Government technology has failed the public for decades, and Americans have been conditioned to expect websites from the 90s, even for the most important civic services.
Kaizen exists to restore citizens' trust in American public services by building technology that actually works. We partner with agencies at every level of government to replace legacy constituent service systems with modern, AI-native software that is worthy of the people they serve. We started in Parks and Recreation, and now we're building towards something much larger, the software layer that powers how Americans access the services their government owes them across all parts of government.
Our platform already reaches 40 million residents across 50+ agencies in 17 states.
Founded in 2022 and based in New York City, Kaizen has raised $35 million from NEA, A16z, Accel, 776, and Carpenter Capital. We're builders, designers, and operators who believe that beautifully designed software isn't a luxury in government, but it's how you earn trust back.
This is a hybrid role based out of our New York City HQ. Candidates must be able to commute to New York City and work from our office at least three times per week (Tuesday–Thursday).
Kaizen is entering an exciting growth phase following our Series A, and we're looking for a Senior Recruiter to join as a key member of our growing talent function. In this role, you'll work closely with our Recruiting Lead to drive and own full-cycle hiring across GTM and operational functions - including sales, finance, business operations, and revenue-adjacent roles. You'll bring a strategic approach to partnering with hiring managers, while staying hands-on across sourcing, pipeline management, and candidate experience. This role is ideal for a senior recruiter who thrives in ambiguity, takes pride in building efficient, scalable processes, and wants to make a meaningful impact at a fast-growing startup.
Own full-lifecycle recruiting for GTM and Ops roles, including Sales, Finance, Biz Ops, and related non-technical functions.
Lead proactive, high-volume sourcing efforts - building diverse, high-quality pipelines through LinkedIn Recruiter, Gem, Boolean search, and AI-powered tools like Juicebox.
Act as a strategic partner to hiring managers, driving alignment on role requirements, leveling, hiring priorities, and timelines while keeping processes moving and accountability high.
Track and communicate pipeline health, funnel metrics, and hiring progress to stakeholders on a regular cadence.
Identify and implement opportunities to improve, automate, and scale recruiting workflows and operations as the team grows.
Ensure every candidate receives a thoughtful, white-glove experience from first touchpoint through offer and close.
Contribute to broader recruiting operations - including process documentation, tooling evaluation, and reporting infrastructure.
5+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, with meaningful tenure at a startup or high-growth tech company.
Deep expertise in recruiting for GTM and operational functions, with a strong track record across sales, biz ops, finance, or revenue-adjacent hiring.
A skilled, proactive sourcer - comfortable building pipelines from scratch using LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean search, and AI sourcing tools; experience with Juicebox is a nice-to-have.
Experience with Ashby or a comparable modern ATS
Demonstrated ability to drive recruiting operations - including metrics tracking, process improvement, and workflow automation.
Highly organized and adept at managing multiple searches and stakeholders simultaneously without dropping the ball.
A true hiring manager partner. Someone who is able to lead with data and insight, push back when needed, and keep hiring processes running with momentum and accountability.
Excellent communicator who keeps candidates and stakeholders informed, engaged, and excited at every stage.
Someone who leads with empathy, professionalism, and genuine care in every candidate interaction.
Familiarity with SaaS or B2B sales hiring, including a working understanding of GTM org structures, quota-carrying roles, and the nuances of hiring across SDR, AE, and CSM functions.
Hands-on experience building recruiting processes from scratch, including scorecards, interview plans, and compensation frameworks.
