Senior Software architect / backend engineer

Federato technologies is a venture-backed startup based in Menlo Park, CA looking to secure a full-stack data/architecture engineer.  The role will report directly to the CTO and you will be the first non-founder engineering hire. You will be making fundamental development and architectural decisions each and every day and play a significant role in the company’s long term success.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated interest in engineering for impact

• 4+ years of industry experience in data integration, engineering, and system architecture

• Work experience delivering significant ML implementations, ideally in an enterprise setting

• Broad familiarity with:

  • The CNCF ecosystem (Docker, Kubernetes, etc) and major cloud vendors

  • CI/CD and ML Ops – model deployment, versioning, and monitoring

  • Core security and networking infrastructure in enterprise environments

  • Event backbone and job pool platforms (Kafka, etc)

• Willingness to get hands dirty across a broad variety of internal and client builds

Nice to haves:

• Undergraduate or Graduate work in a related field

• Familiarity with geospatial and remote sensing implementations

• Interest or familiarity in multi-cluster frameworks - Gloo, Istio, VMware Tanzu

• Interest or familiarity with Elixir and/or Erlang
