GRAIL is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test, Salesforce to join our Commercial Technology organization. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and compliance of our Salesforce ecosystem, which includes Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Account Engagement, Marketing Cloud, and related enterprise integrations. You will play a critical role in supporting commercial and service workflows in a regulated healthcare environment by designing and implementing scalable automated testing frameworks and quality processes.
This is an opportunity to directly impact mission-critical systems that enable early cancer detection at scale. You will collaborate closely with Salesforce Engineers, Product Managers, QA, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver high-quality, compliant releases in alignment with SDLC and regulatory expectations.
Flexible - MPK or RTP (3 days in office) – This is a hybrid role based in either Menlo Park, CA (moving to Sunnyvale, CA in Fall 2026) or Durham, NC. Our current flexible work arrangement policy requires that a minimum of 60%, or 24 hours, of your total work week be on-site. Your specific schedule, determined in collaboration with your manager, will align with team and business needs and could exceed the 60% requirement for the site.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain scalable, reusable automated test frameworks across the Salesforce ecosystem (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Account Engagement, Marketing Cloud).Develop and maintain canonical test data sets to support comprehensive end-to-end testing scenarios.Build and integrate full-stack automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines.Create end-to-end test scenarios across functional and non-functional requirements, including integration testing with internal and external systems.Test Salesforce integrations including asynchronous event-driven and synchronous real-time API interactions.Collaborate with Developers, Salesforce Engineers, and Product Managers to ensure requirements are traceable and adequately validated.Triage defects, reproduce issues, perform root cause analysis, and partner cross-functionally to resolve defects efficiently.Ensure testing practices and documentation align with regulatory requirements (e.g., GxP, FDA expectations).Contribute to continuous improvement of testing methodologies, automation coverage, and SDLC best practices.Document, track, and escalate issues using JIRA and related tools while maintaining strong stakeholder communication.These responsibilities summarize the role’s primary responsibilities and are not an exhaustive list. Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience.5+ years of experience in software quality engineering or SDET roles.3+ years of experience testing Salesforce applications with strong functional knowledge of Salesforce Platform.3+ years of experience building automated test frameworks and integrating them into CI/CD pipelines.Experience with Salesforce testing frameworks including Apex testing, Jest, and Flow testing.Experience testing Salesforce integrations including asynchronous event-driven architectures and synchronous real-time APIs.Experience with automation tools and frameworks such as Playwright (Python), ChromeDP, JavaScript, or Golang.Strong understanding of mock object frameworks and reusable test fixtures.Knowledge of bulkification concepts in Flow and Apex.Experience using bug tracking and test management tools (e.g., JIRA).Strong programming and scripting skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in medical device, pharmaceutical, biotech, or other regulated industries.Working knowledge of GxP and regulated software documentation requirements.Experience testing Salesforce managed packages.Knowledge of AWS services and infrastructure.Experience with Docker and containerization technologies.Familiarity with MuleSoft and MUnit testing frameworks.Salesforce certifications (Administrator, Advanced Administrator, Platform App Builder).Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and performance testing concepts.Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.

The expected, full-time, annual base pay scale for this position is $136k-$180k.
This role may be eligible for other forms of compensation, including an annual bonus and/or incentives, subject to the terms of the applicable plans and Company discretion. This range reflects a good-faith estimate of the range that the Company reasonably expects to pay for the position upon hire; the actual compensation offered may vary depending on factors such as the candidate’s qualifications.
