Server Administrator

We are looking for a Server Administrator Consultant who will be responsible to analyze customer network/computer room assets to determine administrative access control rights for Network, Security, Server, and Computer Room. This position is a customer facing role and will interact with multiple technologies infrastructure teams, involved in various aspects of support and maintenance of those assets.

Responsibilities:

• Discover, inventory and identify all administrative logon credentials to agency infrastructure assets [Now OIT Assets] (servers, networking equipment, security, voice, and multiple-media equipment, storage equipment, technology appliances, etc.)
• Discovery and identification of the process(s) for granting administrative access at each customer site.
• Utilization of a centralized repository with the purpose of authentication of users in scope in order to filter out non-OIT personnel as well as uses that have no requirements for administrative control. Migrating these users to a centralized solution (such as TACACS) is part of the scope

This is an hourly position with opportunity for overtime.

Qualifications

Skills Required:

• Experience as technical lead in administrative discovery
• Knowledge of telecom industry terminology and technology
• Understanding of networking, security, storage, computes and voice/multi-media technologies are required
• In-depth understanding of current Compliancy Standards and Protocols
• Knowledge of the following:
o    Windows and UNIX operating systems and networking
o    Switches and Routers Cisco Network, Extreme
o    Voice and Multimedia Platforms
o    Compute platforms - Dell, HP, Sun etc. server products
o    Storage technologies - EMC, NetApp, and Hitachi storage devices
o    IP voice and multimedia products from Cisco, Avaya o Citrix NetScaler and F5 multi-function Application Delivery Controllers
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills * Must be detail oriented with excellent interpersonal skills
• Highly developed verbal and written communications * Ability to communicate appropriately with all levels within an organization
• Reliability, accuracy and a team spirit are a must
• Strong sense of ownership and accountability - Must be a self-starter, proactive, flexible, and able to work within and meet deadlines
• Strong client orientation - Must be able to manage client expectations
• Strong Project Management skills - must be able to function in a fluid environment with shifting priorities
• Strong organizational awareness skills - the individual needs to collaborate with a large technology infrastructure organization on a daily basis to be effective

Experience Required
• Recent real-world experience with mid to large-size data center migrations, consolidation and net-new
• Broad understanding of enterprise level infrastructure technologies is preferred
• Three to five years experience in a Data Center environment, systems and network administration skills

Education
• CISA Certification is desirable (Certified Information Systems Auditor)
