We are seeking a Sewing Engineer to support the development, optimization, and production of advanced sewn textile products. This role focuses on engineering efficient sewing processes, improving product quality, and supporting the manufacture of high-performance textiles for healthcare, government, security, and infrastructure applications.
The Sewing Engineer will work closely with product development, operations, and quality teams to ensure USA-manufactured textile solutions meet the highest standards of durability, precision, and efficiency.
NOTE: Must be a U.S. citizen.
Key Responsibilities
Process Engineering
- Develop, document, and optimize sewing and textile assembly processes.
- Design efficient workflow layouts for sewing lines and production cells.
- Evaluate and improve sewing operations to increase productivity and reduce waste.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
Production Support
- Train sewing operators and supervisors on new processes and techniques.
- Support production scale-up for new products.
- Collaborate with operations teams to meet production targets and delivery schedules.
- Create construction specifications, sewing standards, and assembly instructions.
- Assist with prototyping and pilot runs for new textile products.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of:
- Industrial sewing machines
- Stitch types and seam constructions
- Pattern engineering
- Textile materials and performance fabrics
- Experience with production line balancing and workflow optimization.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of automation in sewing or textile manufacturing.
- Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Experience with CAD pattern design or textile engineering software.
