Our mission at Onton is to help people make decisions they love, instantly. We’re tackling the most economically impactful decisions first: the average shopping journey takes 79 days, and we’re taking that to less than 1. Since our public launch in late 2023, we've grown exponentially to guide millions of users to their perfect product.
We recently built the foundation of a neurosymbolic AI agent that learns more about the world on every search. You have the chance to solve equally difficult problems as you scale Onton 10x over the next few months to serve 1B+ searches/year, which is just the beginning.
We are seeking a creatively-driven, trend-aware Social Media & Marketing Intern to help scale the Onton community. This role is designed for a digital native who possesses a deep understanding of social media ecosystems and knows how to translate emerging trends into brand-aligned content.
You will work directly under our Social Media Manager and create content that builds community, drives engagement, and expands our reach globally. Onton is a brand positioned at the intersection of interior design, curated shopping, and technology, so an interest in these areas is strongly preferred.
Scale the Community: Assist the SMM and execute daily content that drives follower growth and turns passive viewers into active Onton users.
Content Execution: Turn high-level strategy into reality. You’ll assist in brainstorming, filming, designing static posts, and editing short-form videos (TikTok/Reels).
Trend Scouting: Identify emerging sounds, memes, and cultural shifts before they peak.
Platform Management: Posting content across TikTok, IG, and YouTube, ensuring everything is optimized for algorithm discovery.
Creator Collaboration: Support the SMM in managing influencer partnerships and tracking deliverables to ensure our community sees Onton through the voices they trust.
Comfortable on camera with a natural, engaging presence for video content.
You have a keen eye for aesthetics and composition
Proficiency in CapCut and Canva to handle day-to-day video editing and basic graphic design.
A genuine interest in design, whether through interior design, art, or fashion.
Strong communication skills, including the ability to seek feedback, ask questions, and iterate on ideas quickly.
The ability to work independently and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
Prior experience in a startup or high-growth environment.
A proven track record of growing a personal or brand social media account.
Technical production skills, including lighting, framing, audio, and high-pace video editing.
Our final round of interviews is conducted onsite at our SF office, and this role requires full-time, in-person collaboration. We believe that the best work happens when our team is together, fostering creativity, spontaneous collaboration, and strong relationships.
If you’re unable to attend the interviews onsite or work onsite full-time, this position may not be the right fit. We want to ensure all candidates have a clear understanding of our work environment before applying, so everyone’s time is respected throughout the process.
Our team works in hybrid, 3 days a week, in our new office in San Francisco (Jackson Square). We’re offering relocation compensation as we build density in this area.
We have a tenure system where, after a year, any team member can transition to a fully remote, provided they operate primarily on Pacific Time.
We hire talented and passionate people from diverse backgrounds to ensure our global workforce reflects our customers. Even if your experience doesn't perfectly match every requirement in the job description, we encourage you to apply. If you're a builder at heart who shares our values and is passionate about making software tools accessible to all, we want to hear from you.
