Job Overview

We’re looking for a creative and strategic Social Media Manager who shares our passion for language learning to help lead and grow our presence across platforms. You’ll work closely with our current social media team based in Japan to plan, execute, and optimize content that drives brand awareness, engagement, and growth.

The ideal candidate is deeply familiar with all major platforms (Instagram, TikTok, X/Twitter,YouTube, etc.) and has a strong passion for storytelling, community building, and staying ahead of digital trends.

Key Responsibilities

  • Co-develop and execute social media strategies that support brand growth and engagement

  • Collaborate with the existing social media team on content ideation, creation, and scheduling

  • Come up with and participate in short-form video content (Reels, TikToks, YouTube Shorts, etc.)

  • Maintain a consistent posting schedule across all major platforms (Instagram, TikTok, X/Twitter, YouTube)

  • Monitor and report on key performance metrics (engagement, reach, follower growth, etc.)

  • Stay current on trends, memes, and emerging platform features

  • Engage with our community: respond to DMs, comments, and mentions

  • Collaborate with content creators, influencers, and internal stakeholders

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience managing social media for a brand or content creator

  • Solid understanding of platform-specific best practices and trends

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience with content creation and editing tools (e.g., Canva, CapCut, Adobe Suite, etc.)

  • Self-starter with excellent time management and collaboration skills

  • A sharp creative eye and attention to detail

  • A demonstrated interest in language learning, with the ability or willingness to learn new languages

Nice to Have

  • Video editing or production skills

  • Comfortable in front of the camera and willing to participate in content

  • Experience working with fast-growing digital brands or creator-led companies

  • Familiarity with SEO, email marketing, or analytics tools

  • Manage or support paid social campaigns if applicable

    While we support remote work, this role requires the individual to be based in Tokyo in order to collaborate closely with the Migaku team on content creation and planning. If you are not currently located in Tokyo but willing to move here, please feel free to apply!

  • Working Hours
    No fixed hours. We value results over time clocks. Just be available for essential meetings and collaborate smoothly with the team. Expectation of a minimum 40-hour workweek.
