Frontera is reimagining how children with autism and other behavioral health needs get the care they deserve. We bring together world-class clinicians, technologists, and autism specialists to build cutting-edge AI tools that help care teams work smarter and spend more time with the children and families who need them most.
Our platform is HIPAA-compliant and designed for the real-world needs of behavioral health teams - from psychologists to ABA therapists. By combining evidence-based care with powerful technology, we’re expanding access to high-quality services for families everywhere.
Our Mission
Frontera exists to close the care gap: every child, no matter where they live, should be able to access effective behavioral healthcare.
The Role
We’re building the platform clinicians use to assess, diagnose, and support treatment for children with autism, and we’re looking for engineers who want to work on meaningful, real-world problems in healthcare.
We’re hiring a full stack Software Engineer to join our provider-focused team and help build and scale the systems that power clinician workflows, reporting, and decision-making, enabling faster, more accurate, and more effective care for the families we serve.
In this role, you’ll work across both backend and frontend systems to build the core experiences clinicians rely on every day. You’ll help shape how data moves through the system and how it’s presented in ways that are clear, reliable, and useful in real clinical workflows.
You’ll build and evolve the clinician-facing application, supporting complex workflows such as assessments, session interactions, and report creation, along with the backend services, APIs, and data pipelines that power those experiences.
You’ll collaborate closely with product, design, and other engineers to deliver high-impact, production-ready systems across the stack.
This is an early-stage environment where you’ll own systems end-to-end, influence architecture decisions, and help shape both the product and engineering direction as we scale.
What You'll Do
- Develop and enhance frontend applications that support complex clinician workflows, including assessments, session interactions, and report creation
- Build, maintain, and improve backend services, APIs, and data models that power clinician workflows and reporting
- Develop systems for data ingestion, processing, and report generation across structured and unstructured data
- Contribute to AI-assisted and data-driven features that support clinical insights, automation, and decision-making
- Collaborate across the stack to deliver seamless, end-to-end product experiences
- Ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of data-driven systems
- Participate in system architecture discussions, code reviews, and knowledge sharing
- Debug and troubleshoot issues across backend services, data pipelines, and frontend applications
- Partner with product and design to translate clinical requirements into intuitive technical solutions
- Stay up to date with modern software engineering practices across both frontend and backend development
Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Strong backend development experience building data-driven systems (Python, Node.js, or similar)
- Experience building modern frontend applications (React or similar frameworks)
- Experience designing and building APIs, and working with relational or NoSQL databases
- Experience working with data pipelines or processing structured and unstructured data
- Comfortable contributing to features end-to-end, from backend implementation through frontend integration
- Experience building production-grade, data-driven applications
- Strong attention to code quality, maintainability, and documentation
- Thrives in fast-moving, early-stage environments with greenfield projects
Nice to Have
- Experience building complex, workflow-driven applications or internal tools
- Exposure to AI-assisted or data-driven product features
- Experience with B2B SaaS or internal tools
