You’ll be joining a high-impact engineering squad within our London headquarters. Our interns aren't stuck on the sidelines; you'll work on the same challenges as our full-time engineers, supported by a dedicated mentor to help you navigate our tech stack and culture.
Here’s what your day-to-day might look like:
Build and Ship: Develop, maintain, and deploy technical features with the support of your mentor and team members.
Modern Tooling: Learn industry-leading practices, including the use of GenAI-assisted coding and tooling to design and build software.
Collaborative Problem Solving: Participate in squad ceremonies and collaborate with your team to solve real problems for our three-sided marketplace.
Continuous Learning: Actively learn about the systems you contribute to and act on regular feedback and coaching from senior peers.
Intern Programming: Engage in leadership speaker sessions, social events, and team activities designed to give you a 360-degree view of Deliveroo.
Showcase Your Impact: Present your summer project and learnings to the engineering leadership team at the end of your internship.

Core Engineering Skills: A solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, and experience writing clean code with version control (Git) and unit testing.
Technical Curiosity: Experience writing web-based applications in any language, with an interest in learning our core stack (Go, Ruby/Rails, Python, Scala, or Rust).
Data Literacy: Practical experience working with databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, AWS, or SQL).
Availability: Ability to join us in person at our London Cannon Bridge House office for the duration of the Summer 2026 program.
Nice to Have
Prior Experience: At least one previous Software Engineering internship or relevant technical placement.
Project Work: Participation in hackathons, technical research, open-source contributions, or leadership roles in campus technical societies.
