NBCU News Group is seeking a motivated and experienced HR Director. This is a unique and dynamic opportunity to provide human resources leadership and support for NBCUniversal’s NBC News businesses supporting our Product and Technology Team, US Newsgathering organization, and Meet the Press. This role will partner closely with business leaders across the country and be responsible for driving key HR initiatives in the areas of talent acquisition, performance management, change management, employee coaching, compensation planning, succession planning, employee experiences, training & development. This is an opportunity to create and drive workforce programs that are designed for the unique needs of our workforce. This position will report into the Senior Vice President Human Resources, NBCU News Group.

  • Drive execution of organizational priorities with executive leadership in a dynamic environment across multiple locations
  • Independently provide sound HR guidance and collaborate with business leaders to execute and enable business goals
  • Leverage both qualitative and quantitative data to help shape and inform organizational decisions including but not limited to organizational design and leadership development
  • Participate and contribute to the collective bargaining process and ensure compliance with CBAs
  • Partner with management to develop and implement training and strategies to retain internal and attract external talent
  • Work with managers and our Talent Acquisition team to identify key external talent and build out talent pipeline strategies  
  • Drive key HR initiatives across departments including workforce development, management training, succession planning and innovative growth programs
  • Provide coaching to team leaders and employees, offering feedback and advice on organizational issues
  • Work to resolve employee and organizational issues in a proactive and positive manner
  • Manage complex employee relations issues including organizational structures and investigations
  • Uncover, assess, and propose opportunities for strategic improvements and operational enhancement
  • Produce accurate and clear work of high quality
  • Manage a team of at least 3 employees

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 10+ years relevant HR experience including employee relations and organizational development

Desired Characteristics:

  • HR experience supporting a News environment
  • Proven HR leader with the ability to generate a vision and strategy to guide the organization through change, rethinking the way they look at decisions
  • Possess a natural ease working with and relating to employee needs in a fast-paced, ever-changing matrixed environment
  • Demonstrates ability to interact with a range of personalities and styles and be able to establish effective relationships at all levels, responding effectively and timely to demanding internal clients
  • Trusted business partner with strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and critical thinking skills
  • Takes ownership; able to establish self as “go to” HR resource
  • Excellent leadership, problem solving, project management, and presentation skills
  • Proven influencer with excellent conflict resolution skills
  • Extremely flexible, highly organized and able to easily shift priorities
  • Ability to analyze data and use data to tell a story
  • Detail-oriented with excellent follow-through
  • Ability to work independently and autonomously - juggling multiple priorities across various stakeholders
  • Prior experience supporting a workforce comprised of both fulltime employees and contractors/contingent workers
  • Manage time to effectively to meet deadlines

Additional Requirements:

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, which currently requires contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week. Beginning January 5, 2026, hybrid employees will be required to work from the office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in-office requirements at any time.
