Position Title: Sr. Director of Information Technology Innovation
Reports to: CFO
Direct Reports: IT Manager, Technology PMO, Help Desk Technician (3)
Department: Administration
Location: On-site in Tampa M-F, with flexibility to be discussed
Core Hours: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
What You'll Do:
The Senior Director of Information Technology Innovation is a strategic leader responsible for shaping the vision, execution, and ongoing management of the organization's technology infrastructure, enterprise systems, and cybersecurity landscape. This role goes far beyond daily operations — you will leverage technology to optimize complex logistics, strengthen stakeholder engagement, and enhance data transparency to drive smarter organizational decision‑making.
This position requires a forward‑thinking technologist who can translate sophisticated technical concepts into practical, mission‑aligned business strategies. You will oversee the IT function, lead a high‑performing team, manage key vendor partnerships, and ensure core systems — including CRM platforms, ERP solutions, and warehouse or inventory management technologies — are secure, scalable, and intuitive for users across the organization.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Roadmapping
Develop and execute a technology roadmap aligned with the organization’s long‑term goals.
Advise executive leadership on opportunities where technology can enhance operational efficiency and expand community impact.
Drive digital transformation by shifting from legacy processes to integrated, cloud‑forward solutions.
Oversee the IT budget, ensuring effective allocation across hardware, software, and capital investments.
Team Leadership & External Partnerships
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing IT team, fostering a learning‑oriented culture.
Manage relationships with vendors, service providers, and technology partners, ensuring quality delivery and effective contract management.
Infrastructure & Operations
Oversee network, server, telecommunications, and systems operations across the main campus and remote sites.
Ensure high availability and reliability of critical systems, including warehouse and inventory management platforms central to daily operations.
Manage the IT Service Desk to ensure responsive support for staff and volunteers.
Oversee mobile device management for field and logistics teams.
Innovation & Emerging Technology
Design and deliver a roadmap that positions IT as a proactive, data-driven innovation function.
Evaluate and implement impactful technologies such as AI‑based forecasting, IoT monitoring, and warehouse automation.
Support technology integration across specialized facilities, labs, production spaces, and client‑facing environments.
Enterprise Systems & Data Management
Serve as primary owner for core enterprise systems, including CRM, financial systems, and HRIS platforms.
Partner with data and BI teams to strengthen data integrity, governance, and security.
Lead systems integrations to reduce manual workflows and create unified, organization‑wide data visibility.
Break down departmental silos by enabling a holistic view of the client journey.
Cybersecurity & Compliance
Establish, maintain, and enforce comprehensive cybersecurity policies.
Conduct security audits, vulnerability assessments, and disaster recovery testing.
Ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulations (e.g., PCI-DSS, HIPAA where relevant).
Maintain a strong disaster recovery posture, especially for operations sensitive to regional weather events.
What We're Looking For
Must-Haves:
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
10+ years of progressive IT management experience
3+ years in a Director-level or senior technology leadership role
Technical Competencies
Hands-on experience managing CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce or similar)
Strong knowledge of cloud environments (Azure, Microsoft 365) and network infrastructure (Cisco/Meraki)
Experience with ERP and warehouse or inventory management systems
Demonstrated expertise in cybersecurity management and disaster recovery planning
