About the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant to support daily financial operations and month-end close activities. This role plays a key part in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting while contributing to a strong internal control environment.

A solid understanding of international accounting standards, including NIIF, U.S. GAAP, and IFRS, is essential, as this position supports a globally distributed team and helps maintain consistency and compliance in financial reporting across regions.
Key Responsibilities:
General Accounting & Financial Operations
- Review, categorize, and reconcile financial transactions.
- Manage and monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring proper documentation and timely processing.
- Assist with invoicing, collections, vendor payments, and employee reimbursements.
- Generate and analyze AR aging reports and follow up on outstanding balances.
- Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate customer and vendor records.
- Validate employee and vendor expenses in accordance with company policies.
General Ledger & Month-End Close
- Prepare journal entries and supporting schedules.
- Perform account reconciliations (bank, balance sheet, AP/AR, and other key accounts).
- Contribute to month-end and year-end close processes.
- Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial statements.
- Compile documentation and coordinate with external accounting partners and auditors as needed.
- Participate in process improvements and special projects while providing accounting-related operational support across global operations
Preferred Experience (Nice to Have)
- Experience processing payroll for Mexico-based employees in compliance with local labor laws and tax regulations.
- Exposure to Mexican tax reporting and audit support processes.
- Experience coordinating with external payroll providers.
- Familiarity with administering statutory benefits and related documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required).
- 2–5 years of progressive experience in accounting and financial operations.
- Strong understanding of NIIF, U.S. GAAP, and/or IFRS principles.
- Experience supporting month-end close and preparing account reconciliations.
- Solid knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
- Experience working in a multinational or internationally reporting environment preferred.
- Exposure to foreign currency transactions and consolidations is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (comfortable with formulas, lookups, and data analysis).
- Experience with QuickBooks Online or similar cloud-based accounting systems preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish.
- Experience with Mexican payroll or tax compliance is a plus, but not required.
