Summary
Aquarian Holdings is seeking an exceptional Fund Accountant to join its Finance and Accounting team. The Fund Accountant will operate under the supervision of the Partnership Controller. This position is in-office 5 days per week in New York City.
This position is onsite 5 days a week at our New York City offices.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with the monthly close processes, including preparation of journal entries, trial balances, supporting schedules and reconciliations.
Support the preparation of investor reports and financial statements for internally administered funds and coordinate with third-party fund administrators for externally administered funds.
Assist with preparation and approval of wire transfers for cash disbursements, including capital calls, distributions, and vendor payments, ensuring proper authorization and documentation.
Maintain accurate records and schedules for key general ledger accounts including but not limited to cash, accrued expenses, debt financing and accounts payable.
Coordinate with various internal teams including Operations, Investor Relations, Tax, and Legal and Compliance.
Participate in system and process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Support audit and tax processes by providing documentation and responding to inquiries.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required).
2-3 years of experience in public accounting or in fund accounting.
Familiarity with limited partnership agreements and fund waterfalls calculations.
Experience with partnership and fund accounting.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems is a plus.
Experience with private credit is a plus.
CPA or working toward certification is a plus.
Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and its application to fund structures and financial reporting.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while utilizing effective time management
