About You
As a Staff Sales Engineer at SGNL, you’ll be a trusted technical advisor and a critical partner to Account Executives, helping Fortune 1000 and other strategic customers understand, evaluate, and adopt SGNL. You’ll thrive at the intersection of deep IAM expertise and consultative selling — guiding complex technical conversations, leading workshops, and helping customers envision how SGNL fits into their architecture. You aren’t just a presenter; you’re a technical quarterback who coordinates resources, removes blockers, and ensures prospects experience SGNL’s value through demos and proofs of concept. You bring strong communication and organizational skills, the ability to debug and support integrations, and a passion for collaborating with sales to win strategic deals.
Basic Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience as a Sales Engineer (or related technical pre-sales role) in the Identity and Access Management (IAM) space — or direct experience working with enterprise IAM programs
- Proven experience managing complex enterprise/strategic sales cycles end-to-end, including discovery, workshops, architecture design, demos, and proof-of-concept delivery
- Demonstrated ability to “quarterback” technical workstreams — leveraging team resources effectively to coordinate internal and external experts, drive PoC execution, and ensure timely resolution of technical blockers
- Strong understanding of IAM principles, enterprise IT architectures, and system security measures, with broad knowledge of systems, networking, and web platforms
- Hands-on expertise with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and modern integration approaches (APIs, API management, microservices, and containerization)
- Proficiency with modern programming/scripting languages (Python, Go, Java, C#, etc.), with the ability to debug and support integrations in a structured, customer-facing manner
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate closely with Account Executives, contributing technical insight and feedback to shape deal strategy
- Comfort presenting and delivering technical content to executives, architects, and technical staff, with the ability to translate technical capabilities into business impact
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong grasp of systems design tradeoffs (scalability, reliability, availability) in the context of enterprise IAM solutions
- Proven ability to mentor and enable peers in technical selling
- Experience working in startups or fast-paced, ambiguous environments where adaptability and bias for action are key
