Strategic finance analysts help ensure that AllTrails makes sound financial decisions. Your work—whether it's building financial models, tracking performance metrics, or preparing reports—directly supports leaders in making strategic company decisions. You'll contribute across multiple projects at a time, staying focused on the details while learning to connect your analysis to bigger-picture business challenges.
You will support financial modeling and forecasting efforts, partner with cross-functional teams such as Marketing, Product, and Engineering on analytical projects, and contribute to annual and long-term planning processes. This is a great opportunity for a detail-oriented analyst looking to grow their strategic finance skill set in a high-impact, collaborative environment.
Supporting monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting for leadership, the board, and investors—from raw data pulls to polished presentations
Contributing to ad-hoc strategic analyses cross-functionally (e.g., paid acquisition performance, product launch business cases, international market analysis, etc.)
Maintaining detailed financial models to support budgeting and planning, and performing budget variance analysis at a monthly cadence
Building and maintaining performance reporting and KPI dashboards for various departments using SQL and Looker
Supporting inbound diligence requests and other ad hoc strategic projects as needed
Experience
2–4 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, management consulting, or strategic finance/FP&A, preferably with a focus on software and internet businesses
Exposure to annual and long-range forecasting, reporting on forecast vs. actual variance, and similar FP&A responsibilities
Proven track record of achieving goals and delivering results in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
Technical & Analytical Skills
Advanced proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets
Strong working knowledge of SQL and business intelligence tools
Strong attention to detail and analytical rigor
Communication & Presentation
Solid presentation skills, with the ability to communicate quantitative and qualitative insights clearly and visually
Strong communication skills, including the ability to break down complex concepts and proactively share knowledge with teammates and stakeholders
