Sieve is the only AI research lab exclusively focused on video data. We combine exabyte-scale video infrastructure, novel video understanding techniques, and dozens of data sources to develop datasets that push the frontier of video modeling. Video makes up 80% of internet traffic and has become the enabling digital medium powering creativity, communication, gaming, AR/VR, and robotics. Sieve exists to solve the biggest bottleneck in growth of these applications: high-quality training data.
We've partnered with top AI labs and did $XXM last quarter alone, as a team of just 15 people. We also raised our Series A last year from Tier 1 firms such as Matrix Partners, Swift Ventures, Y Combinator, and AI Grant.
As the Data Partnerships Lead, you'll build and own Sieve's partnerships engine from the ground up. An integral part of our business is partnering with content platforms, streaming services, and other companies with large video libraries to access new kinds of data at scale. You'll be responsible for identifying, reaching out to, and closing partnerships with a wide range of companies, then managing those relationships long-term. You'll create the processes, build the pipeline, and define how we measure success. This is a high-ownership role for someone who's done partnerships or business development before and wants to build an entire function from scratch.
Identify and prioritize potential data source partners: content platforms, streaming services, media companies, and other organizations with large video or media libraries
Build and manage a full-cycle partnerships pipeline: outbound prospecting, pitch development, deal negotiation, and close
Structure and negotiate data licensing agreements, including pricing, access terms, and usage rights
Manage ongoing partner relationships to expand scope, renew agreements, and maintain trust
Develop repeatable processes, playbooks, and metrics for the partnerships function
Collaborate with engineering and data ops to ensure smooth integration of partner data into Sieve's infrastructure
3-6 years of experience in partnerships, business development, or a closely related field
Track record of sourcing and closing deals, ideally in a role where you built something from scratch or operated with significant autonomy
Strong communication skills; you'll be the face of Sieve to external partners
Comfortable with ambiguity and moving fast in a startup environment
In-person at our SF HQ
Experience in video licensing, content partnerships, or media/entertainment
Familiarity with data licensing or IP-related deal structures
Prior startup experience or experience in AI/ML
