Position Summary
The FP&A Summer e.l.f.tern will support the Financial Planning & Analysis team with forecasting, variance analysis, reporting, and data visualization focused on the Marketing organization. This role provides hands-on exposure to financial planning processes, cross-functional collaboration, and executive-level reporting, offering a strong foundation in how finance partners with the business to drive decision-making.
Responsibilities:
Participate in financial forecasting, monthly variance analysis, and internal reporting with a focus on marketing functionsSupport month-end and quarter-end close activities, including documentation of forecast changesPrepare monthly analyses tied to marketing initiatives to support business decisionsExplore opportunities for data visualization and storytelling, translating large data sets into clear, actionable insightsCollaborate with cross-functional partners on financial analysis for business casesContribute to profitability initiatives and process improvements across business unitsSupport scenario planning and what-if analysis as part of ad hoc requestsCollaborate with the FP&A team on special projects as needed
Requirements:
Must be available for the full internship period: June 15th - August 21stMust be a rising junior or senior at the time of the internshipCurrently pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related fieldStrong proficiency and curiosity in Excel; familiarity with P&L structuresBasic understanding of accounting principles and financial reportingAbility to synthesize large data sets and deliver actionable insightsExcellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skillsHighly organized with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage multiple deadlinesSolution-oriented, innovative, and eager to contribute ideasStrong work ethic, integrity, and commitment to high-quality execution
Business Rationale:
This summer, the FP&A e.l.f.tern will support monthly forecasting cycles by attending forecasting meetings, assisting with documentation of changes, and contributing to marketing-focused financial analysis. The intern will also help deliver a recurring marketing data visualization project each month, leveraging large data sets, pivot tables, and presentation materials shared with leadership. In addition, the role will support ongoing ad hoc analyses, providing meaningful exposure to real-time financial decision-making and core FP&A workflows.
