Summer Internship
Position Summary:
SSC CPAs + Advisors, Inc. is offering a unique Summer Internship opportunity designed to provide students with hands-on experience across three key lines of service: Tax, Audit, and Client Accounting Services (CAS). This rotational internship is ideal for students eager to explore various areas of public accounting and build a strong foundation for their future careers.
Interns will be assigned a Mentor or a Senior Navigator to guide them through the experience, with opportunities to shadow professionals, assist with client work, and participate in firm events, training, and community involvement.
Key Responsibilities:
In Tax:
- Support the preparation of individual and business tax returns
- Organize and review tax documents
- Assist with basic tax research projects
In Audit (Assurance):
- Assist with audit fieldwork and testing procedures
- Help compile workpapers and document findings
- Participate in internal audit team meetings and discussions
In Client Accounting Services (CAS):
- Support account reconciliations and bookkeeping tasks
- Assist with month-end close processes and financial reporting
- Work with accounting software such as QuickBooks and others
General:
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors across departments
- Attend Summer Internship Academy sessions for technical and soft skills development
- Participate in firm-wide initiatives, networking events, and social activities
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
- Completion of introductory accounting courses
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
- Excellent communication and time-management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with accounting software is a plus
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
