Responsibilities
- Use modern MVC frameworks on the server side (Node.js) and the client side (Angular.js);
- Develop and maintain the NewsCred API, the core service of the NewsCred Platform;
- Build and maintain the distributed system that consumes and curates licensed content from thousands of providers;
- Work on our search and analytics infrastructure;
- Own the system architecture and continuously work on ensuring its scalability on AWS;
- Work with a diverse stack of open source technologies (Python/Django, Celery/ RabbitMQ, Apache Solr/Java, MySQL/ MongoDB/ Redis, Ansible, Unix);
- Write tests to ensure high code quality.
Qualifications
Requirements
- Minimum 1-7 year(s) experience;
- Strong problem solving and coding skills are required;
- Impeccable English communication skills;
- Interest in full stack programming is required;
- Experience with a version control system (preferably Git);
- Experience with MVC web and JavaScript development (Rails/Django/Zend/Symfony, Backbone.js/Angular.js);
- Experience with relational databases is essential;
- Theoretical and practical knowledge of REST and SOA is a preferable;
- Experience with NoSQL systems is preferable;
- Experience with: MySQL, MongoDB, Nginx, Apache, Load balancing, Caching and CDN, DNS Systems, Security Hardening, Monitoring and alerting Systems, VPN (Hardware and OpenVPN), Bash and Perl/Python Scripting, Configuration management with Puppet or Ansible.
