This role is for a Technical Engineer – Automation & Commissioning responsible for the deployment, commissioning, and servicing of advanced greenhouse automation systems across project sites in India. The position involves extensive fieldwork, hands-on system setup, and close coordination with global technology partners.
You will work directly with climate control, fertigation, water management, and sensor-based automation systems used in high-tech horticulture environments. Key Responsibilities
Commissioning & Technical Execution
- Install, configure, and commission automation systems including climate control, fertigation, irrigation, water management, and wireless sensor networks.
- Set up and manage system connectivity using LAN, fibre, Wi-Fi, or internet-based interfaces.
- Support the integration of automation systems with electrical, mechanical, and irrigation infrastructure within greenhouse facilities.
- Ensure timely onsite execution, adherence to project timelines, and smooth system handover.
- Conduct post-commissioning training sessions for customers and operational teams.
Technical Support & Troubleshooting
- Provide onsite and remote technical support during and after project delivery.
- Diagnose system issues and resolve automation, connectivity, or control-related challenges.
- Support internal teams and customers to ensure optimal system performance.
- Participate in project kick-off meetings and design discussions from an automation and controls perspective.
Design Support & Documentation
- Interpret automation designs and contribute to technical specifications.
- Assist in translating concept-level designs into execution-ready documentation.
- Prepare and maintain commissioning reports, wiring diagrams, and operating manuals.
Training & Continuous Improvement
- Participate in structured technical training programs to strengthen expertise in automation and horticultural processes.
- Share knowledge and best practices with internal teams to improve overall technical capability.
- Ensure safety, quality, and compliance standards are maintained across all project phases.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- Engineering degree or diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Agricultural Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience in automation system installation or commissioning, preferably in horticulture, irrigation, or precision agriculture.
- Strong understanding of fertigation units, climate control systems, sensors, pumps, valves, and control panels.
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, control schematics, and system layouts.
- Familiarity with PLC-based systems or digital control logic is an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of industrial networking concepts such as routers, switches, and connectivity protocols.
- Strong problem-solving ability and comfort working independently at remote project sites.
- Willingness to travel extensively across India.
- Clear communication skills in English and Hindi, with the ability to interact confidently with customers and global technical teams.
