MOO set out to shake up the world of print back in 2006. And we’ve come a long way since. Today we’re a 400 + strong team (we’re thinking of getting matching jackets) who create print and digital products for companies of all sizes – from Google and AirBnB to the guy who makes those amazing prints you found at a craft fair.
Our global HQ is in London, UK, while we also have premises in Dagenham. In the US, you’ll find us in Boston, MA, as well as East Providence, RI and Denver, CO and now in Cape Town South Africa!
At MOO, we don’t just print business cards; we help people make their mark on the world. We believe great design is for everyone, and our goal is to help customers achieve that.
Because our customers upload a wide variety of file types, we are seeking a creative and enthusiastic Technical Production Artworker to join our fast-growing Customer Service team. This is an interim (12 months), entry-level contract role in our Cape Town hub for a production-minded artist who enjoys the "detective work" of fixing files.
You will be the final line of defense, ensuring that low-resolution or incorrectly formatted files are corrected to meet our premium print standards before they hit the press.
The hours will be Monday- Friday
March - November 5pm-1:30am SAST
November to March 6:00pm-2:30am SAST
Responsibilities
High-Volume File Correction: Execute core print production by preparing print-ready files, setting bleeds, crops, and correct color profiles
Technical Troubleshooting: Gathers and analyzes job information to identify and fix common production problems like low-resolution images, missing fonts, or incorrect file setups
Quality Control & Editing: Review items flagged for manual quality control—specifically for paper and branded merchandise—performing text edits and layout revisions to meet MOO standards
Efficiency under Pressure: Manage a high-volume personal workload, ensuring daily tasks and milestones are met under tight deadlines
About You
Problem Solver: You can independently resolve standard file errors or escalate complex issues for guidance when necessary
A "Technical Artistry" Mindset: You have a sharp visual eye and can spot a typo, a low-res pixel, or a misaligned image from a mile away
Adobe Expert: You are highly comfortable with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and can quickly learn our CRM (Zendesk) and internal backend systems
Collaborative Spirit: You enjoy participating in team standups and 1:1s to help the team keep up with high customer demand
