The Role overview:
We are looking for a Test Engineer who believes that quality is a collective responsibility. You are someone who is comfortable performing thoughtful manual exploration as you are writing automated tests.
With at least 4 years of experience, you have a strong foundation in manual testing and a solid grasp of API testing. You don't need to be an automation architect, but you should be eager to contribute to intermediate-level automation efforts and help the team to" shift left" by embedding quality early in the development lifecycle
Key responsibilities:
Shape Work for Testability: Collaborate with engineers and product managers to define clear acceptance criteria and ensure stories are testable from day one.
Balanced Testing: Move between hands-on coding for API and UI automation and exploratory sessions to uncover the edge cases that scripts might miss.
Champion Quality: Act as a Subject Matter Expert for your product area, understanding not just "how it works," but how it impacts the customer.
Own the Pipeline: Integrate tests into our CI/CD pipelines and monitor production health to drive system resilience.
Continuous Improvement: Participate in blameless retrospectives, triage failures, and identify root causes to improve the team's overall delivery speed and confidence.
Level Up the Team: Share your knowledge of testing best practices and help us refine our testing frameworks and documentation
You are a Test Engineer with:
4+ years of experience in a Software Testing or Quality Engineering role within an Agile team
Strong manual testing skills for web and mobile applications, with a knack for scenario-based exploration
Automation Foundation: Proven ability to write and maintain automated tests (mainly API) using modern programming languages: we are flexible on the language, provided you understand core OOP concepts
Stack Literacy: Experience with SQL, version control (Git), and an understanding of how to debug across the stack (APIs, databases, and web apps)
Pipeline Exposure: Familiarity with CI/CD environments and containerized applications
A Collaborative Attitude: You thrive in cross-functional, Agile environments and prefer pairing with developers
Pragmatic & Methodical Approach: You are detail-oriented but understand the balance between risk and speed.
Technically Curious Mind: You have a solid understanding of web applications, APIs, and how they interact across a distributed stack.
A Proactive Communication: You are comfortable discussing test results with stakeholders and providing insights for continuous improvement.
Additionally, you would impress us if you have:
Experience with Linux systems, Helm, or Kubernetes.
Familiarity with Python and Playwright
Experience with tools like Rest Assured, Postman, or JMeter
