We are seeking a hands-on Test Engineer to develop, execute, and support testing for hardware products in a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for validating product performance, reliability, and compliance through the design of test procedures, fixtures, and automated test systems, supporting both new product introduction (NPI) and high-volume production. This will be based at our HQ location in El Segundo, CA.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute hardware test plans, procedures, and acceptance criteriaWrite and debug test automation scripts in Python Design, build, and maintain test fixtures and test equipmentSupport production testing and troubleshoot test failures on the manufacturing lineAnalyze test data to identify trends, root causes, and corrective actionsCollaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams during NPIValidate product performance, reliability, and environmental requirementsEnsure test coverage meets regulatory and customer requirementsImprove test efficiency, yield, and throughput in manufacturingDocument test results, procedures, and engineering changesSupport failure analysis and continuous improvement initiatives
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, or related fieldExperience in hardware testing, manufacturing engineering, or production supportStrong understanding of electronic or mechanical systems (depending on product)Experience with test equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, environmental chambers)Advanced proficiency in PythonAbility to read and interpret schematics, drawings, and specificationsExperience troubleshooting hardware issues in a production environmentStrong documentation and communication skillsAbility to work some nights and weekends to meet mission-critical deadlinesAbility to obtain and maintain a security clearanceMust be a U.S. Person (see ITAR Regulations below) due to required access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilities
