Main Function
The main responsibility is the accurate monitoring and operation of the plant and bagging scales used in the processing plants to ascertain the weights of all products from the point of work-in-progress to finished goods.
Key Accountabilities
- Monitor daily test weight checks to ensure that scales are up to the required standard for the start of the production day.
- Generate the daily scale check reports that are sent to the production clerk for review. This is used to formulate the Scale Monitor KPI report that is sent to the Operational Accountant.
- Identify and select relevant PLU number that describes the product being weighed
- Ensure contents of cases are accurate (# of Packs, correct Product) when at the Tray Pack (FG) scale
- Ensure product is stable or fixed on the scale
- Print and check label for accuracy of information
- Attach label to crate /tub/box/bag and remove product from scale
- Ensure that products are correctly stacked on pallets and hand them over to the holding department
- Ensure that the production floor is cleared of all FG, WIP and WP products made on that day
- Ensure that all deleted labels are signed and handed over to the production clerk for accountability and safe keeping (Audit purposes)

Close scales at the end of production and attach locks
- Participate in the month end inventory counts
- Participate in the weekly spot counts
- Conduct any other general duties reasonably assigned
Demonstrated Knowledge, Skills, Experience
- Five (5) CXC / O Level subjects to include Mathematics and English Language
- Ability to maintain and preserve strict confidentiality
- Proficient in the use of MS Office software applications (particularly Excel)
- Ability to work with all levels of employees, departments, and customer representatives
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Mature, with a reasonable level of emotional intelligence
