Position: TikTok Content Strategist & Creator

Scope of the role:

We’re looking for a TikTok-native content strategist & creator to help scale our organic and performance-driven TikTok presence. This role sits at the intersection of trend forecasting, analyzing content, creative strategy, and hands-on content creation—turning insights into scroll-stopping videos that drive engagement, discovery, and revenue.

You’ll own the TikTok content roadmap end-to-end: from spotting trends early → developing creative concepts → filming/editing content → iterating based on performance. This is a highly collaborative role working closely with Growth, Creative, Influencer, and Paid teams.

Responsibilities:

1. TikTok Strategy & Planning:

  • Own and execute the TikTok content strategy aligned to brand, growth, and product priorities
  • Build weekly and monthly content calendars tied to launches, campaigns, and cultural moments
  • Translate performance insights into clear creative briefs and content themes
  • Identify whitespace opportunities across formats (UGC, trends, education, POVs, product demos)

2. Content Creation (Hands-On):

  • Concept, script, film, and edit TikTok content optimized for performance
  • Create native, platform-first videos that feel authentic—not overproduced
  • Test multiple hooks, angles, and storytelling structures per concept
  • Rapidly iterate based on performance data and trend velocity

3. Trend & Culture Monitoring:

  • Stay ahead of TikTok trends, sounds, formats, and creator behaviors
  • Quickly adapt trends in a way that feels on-brand and commercially relevant
  • Know when to jump on a trend—and when not to

4. Performance & Optimization:

  • Track and analyze content performance (views, engagement, saves, CTR, conversions)
  • Partner with Growth/Paid teams to identify high-performing organic content for amplification
  • Use learnings to continuously refine hooks, formats, and creative direction

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Partner with Influencer/Affiliate teams to align organic content with creator strategies
  • Work with Creative and Brand teams to maintain consistency in tone and visual identity
  • Support product launches with high-impact TikTok storytelling

Requirements:

  • 1-2+ years creating and/or strategizing TikTok content for a brand or creator account
  • Deep understanding of TikTok trends, algorithms, and creator culture
  • Proven ability to create content that drives both engagement and conversion
  • Strong storytelling instincts with an obsession for hooks
  • Comfortable being on camera and directing others on camera
  • Highly organized, fast-moving, and comfortable with testing/learning quickly
  • Data-informed creative thinker (you care about performance, not vanity metrics)

Bonus Points:

  • Experience in beauty, haircare, wellness, or lifestyle brands
  • Familiarity with TikTok Shop, affiliates, or live shopping
  • Experience repurposing organic content into paid ads
  • Strong POV on what makes content convert vs. just a trend
