This unique role requires a blend of design intuition, technical adaptability, and a deep focus on transformation. You will be instrumental in the effort to redesign and modernize legacy enterprise applications, translating outdated systems into intuitive, accessible, and modern user experiences. This role is not about designing pixel-perfect greenfield products; it's about solving complex design challenges within system constraints and leveraging AI-assisted tools for rapid concepting and iteration, aligning with the practices of our AI Application Modernization Factory. You will partner closely with our elite engineering teams, including Forward Deployed Engineers (FDEs) and the Principal Engineer & Technical Architect, to drive transitional UI/UX flows that accommodate incremental modernization while significantly improving usability and aesthetics. Key Responsibilities <ul> <li>Legacy System Redesign: Drive the user experience redesign of outdated legacy system interfaces, applying modern usability and accessibility principles while respecting architectural and technical constraints.</li> <li>AI-Assisted Design Workflow: Utilize AI-assisted tools (e.g., Figma AI, DALL·E, Midjourney) for rapid prototyping, wireframing, visual exploration, and design acceleration, integrating with our AI-assisted SDLC practices.</li> <li>Transitional UX Strategy: Design transitional UX flows and patterns that support an incremental modernization approach, focusing on delivering value quickly and iteratively rather than complete rebuilds.</li> <li>Design System Development: Develop and maintain responsive, accessible, and scalable design systems to accelerate modernization initiatives across multiple applications.</li> <li>Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and business teams to ensure visual consistency, technical feasibility, and alignment of modernization efforts with functional and business goals.</li> <li>Iteration & Feedback: Participate in rapid iteration cycles, effectively incorporating user and stakeholder feedback in real-time to refine designs.</li> </ul> <h2>Required Qualifications & Experience</h2> <ul> <li>Experience: 5-8 years of progressive experience in UI or UX design, with a strong preference for experience in modernization, transformation, or enterprise/SaaS environments.</li> <li>Portfolio: Strong portfolio demonstrating before-and-after modernization projects or successful redesigns of complex legacy systems with an emphasis on data-heavy B2B applications..</li> <li>Design Tool Fluency: Expert fluency in modern design and prototyping tools (Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch).</li> <li>AI Design Experience: Hands-on experience working with AI-assisted design tools (Figma AI, DALL·E, ChatGPT, or similar) to enhance design velocity.</li> <li>Technical Understanding: Comfortable collaborating with developers and possessing a strong understanding of the technical realities of front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, NextJS, or similar).</li> <li>Design Principles: Deep understanding of responsive design principles, accessibility standards (WCAG), and usability testing methodologies.</li> <li>Communication: Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills across cross-functional teams.</li> </ul> <h2>Preferred Skills (A Plus)</h2> <ul> <li>Experience in a B2B or enterprise SaaS environment.</li> <li>Familiarity with the challenges and constraints of large-scale application re-platforming projects.</li> <li>A pragmatic, problem-solving mindset, particularly in complex, constraint-heavy environments.</li> <li>Experience or familiarity with modern development practices leveraged by our engineering teams (Agile, DevSecOps).</li> </ul><div class="content-conclusion">Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Equal Employment Opportunity at Banyan: Banyan affirms that inequality is detrimental to our Global Teams, associates, our Operating Companies, and the communities we serve.
