About the Role

The Vice President will be responsible for cultivating and maintaining relationships with financial advisors and distributing our growth equity products to financial advisors within the Ohio Valley territory.

The Vice President should be able to provide added value support through a consultative sales approach tailored to the individual advisor needs within the respective territory. This includes the ability to have in-depth conversations about our products and the investment environment, as well as experience in the sales approach.  The Vice President will be responsible for driving sales and managing client relationships within the territory.

Intermediary Channel covering financial advisors within wirehouses, regional and independent broker/dealers – Ohio Valley Region based in Ohio - covering OH, IN,KY and WV.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering with competence our investment capabilities, philosophy and investment process, while demonstrating the uniqueness of each product.
  • Demonstrating a high level of performance and ethics.
  • Building and executing against a comprehensive sales & marketing plan, emphasizing a high level of activity and a focus on engaging top financial advisors within the territory.
  • Managing all stages of the sales cycle, from prospecting to discovery to implementation, as well as servicing and ongoing management of the relationship, once established.
  • Working well both as an individual and a member of a team.
  • Demonstrating an understanding of our investment strategies, and how they relate to an individual or firm’s overall strategy and investment needs.
  • Providing advanced sales presentations on Baron Funds portfolios and strategies.
  • Must have the ability to travel extensively (up to 75% of the time, including overnight hotel stays) with a high degree of accountability, independence and initiative.
  • Regularly enter all sales activities into the Firm’s Salesforce CRM system.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • At least 5 years of experience in the financial services industry.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s degree, CIMA and/or CFA a plus.
  • Must hold Series 7 and 63 certifications.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Achievements in a financial sales environment
  • Demonstrated high level of performance and results in a recent/prior and similar role
  • Ability to capture, increase and retain Assets Under Management
  • Strong relationships with key financial advisors
  • Industry and product knowledge
  • Capacity to build positive and effective internal and external relationships
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Management of an assigned territory as your own business
  • Experience developing and implementing sales and marketing business plans

The base salary range for this position is based on skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity. It is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. It also participates in the Firm's 401(k) and Profit-Sharing Plan.
