About the Role
Our client is looking for a South African-based Video Creative who can produce high-performing video content for ads, social media, and YouTube. You should be comfortable working with short-form and long-form content, motion graphics, and AI video tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Video Ads & Performance Creatives
- Create video ads for platforms like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube
- Creation and editing of performance-focused creatives optimized for hook, retention, and conversion
- Adapt and resize videos for different placements and aspect ratios (1:1, 9:16, 16:9, etc.)
- Social Media & Reels
- Create and edit engaging reels and short-form content for Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts
- Add captions, transitions, effects, and trends to increase watch time and shares
- Repurpose long-form content into multiple short-form clips
- YouTube & Long-Form
- Create and edit YouTube videos (vlogs, educational content, product videos, etc.)
- Structure videos with strong pacing, storytelling, and clear calls to action
- Add simple motion graphics, lower thirds, intros/outros, and end screens
- Motion Graphics & AI Video
- Create motion graphics for intros, transitions, titles, and overlays
- Design simple animated elements for ads and explainer-style content
- Use AI video tools (e.g., for B-roll, effects, or enhancement) to speed up production and improve quality
- Proficiency in latest AI tools for creating hyper realistic/ premium/high-end photorealistic video content
- Collaboration & Workflow
- Work closely with marketing, creative, and copy teams to align with campaign goals
- Manage video files, project timelines, and revisions efficiently
- Stay up to date with video trends, hooks, and formats that perform well
Requirements
Requirements
- Based in South Africa
- At least 2 years of experience as a Video Editor / Motion Designer
- Proven showreel/portfolio demonstrating:
- Video ads, reels, and YouTube videos
- Basic to intermediate motion graphics
- Familiarity or experience with AI video tools
- Proficiency in:
- Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve
- After Effects (or similar) for motion graphics
- Strong understanding of:
- Social-first video formats and best practices
- Storytelling and pacing for digital audiences
- Sound design basics (music, effects, levels)
Nice to Have
- Experience editing UGC-style ads or direct-response creatives
- Experience working with online brands, eCommerce, or info products
- Basic knowledge of YouTube SEO and thumbnail collaboration
