We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our Finance team on a fixed-term maternity cover basis (12 months).
This isn't just a "business as usual" finance role. While you’ll be responsible for the core engine of our accounts payable and receivable, you will also play a key part in our purposeful digital transformation. We are actively evolving how our finance function operates by embracing new technologies, and you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to AI and automation projects that change the way we work.
Core Finance: Manage the end-to-end accounts payable process, process staff expenses, prepare payment batches, and manage client invoicing/credit control.
Reconciliations: Perform regular Balance Sheet and ad-hoc reconciliations (OPEX, Southern Cross, etc.) and support staff timesheet tracking.
Digital Evolution: Actively participate in our AI transformation project—testing tools, contributing ideas, and helping document new, automated ways of working.
Relationship Management: Act as a primary point of contact for supplier and client inquiries, providing transparent and calm communication under pressure.
Finance Experience: Demonstrable experience in an accounts or finance administration role, with proficiency in Xero and Excel.
Curious Mindset: A genuine interest in how AI can be applied in a work context. You don’t need to be an expert, but you must be willing to learn and explore new tools.
Adaptability: Comfort working in a digitally evolving environment where processes are subject to change. You see ambiguity as an opportunity, not a challenge.
