Act as the primary technical liaison between our company and OEM/ODM partners for PA loudspeaker projects.
Evaluate and qualify new suppliers and manufacturing partners, ensuring adherence to company standards and industry regulations.
Conduct design reviews, risk assessments, and root cause analyses for product issues.
Coordinate and support product testing, certification, and compliance activities (e.g., CE, UL, EN54).
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product Management, Quality, Procurement, etc.) to ensure project alignment and timely delivery.
Product specification
Define technical requirements
Intelligent design to minimize product cost and monitor cost throughout projects.
Define product requirements to comply with global standards
Model and simulate enclosures, waveguides, driver chassis, suspension systems and other components using SolidWorks, MATLAB, COMSOL and other simulation software
Production
Design for manufacturing optimization with factories and vendors
Support sample and pre-production builds remotely and on-site
Monitor design, test and production process at and OEM partners
Test, Debug, Validation
Create test and design verification plan for functional and reliability testing including testing of speaker components and complete systems
Verify complete products for conformance to design specifications, operational and safety standards such as IEC 62638, EN54, UL1480. UL1480A
Execute / supervise test plan
Evaluate loudspeaker system and speaker component performance and reliability, failure modes and root cause failure analysis
Perform sample evaluations
Perform defect analysis and provide technical solutions to resolve them
Product release
Responsible to deliver on time, on cost, on quality
Work closely with notified bodies to obtain product certifications eg. EN54, UL, CE, …
Manage / create technical documentation
Support projects during the full life cycle, work with quality and service departments to solve ongoing quality issues should they arise
Work in a team environment with project, product, quality and purchase managers
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Acoustics, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or Physics or equivalent
Proven experience in loudspeaker design, audio systems engineering, or a similar role—preferably with exposure to OEM/ODM collaboration.
Strong understanding of acoustics, transducer technology, and PA system requirements.
Minimum of five (5) years’ experience designing, modeling, simulating, and testing electro-acoustics systems and loudspeakers
Knowledge of loudspeaker components and systems latest technology and current state of the art
Experience with technical computation: MATLAB, Mathcad or similar
Experience with simulation and measurement tools (e.g., Klippel, EASE, COMSOL).
Experience with 3D CAD – SolidWorks is preferred
Experience with multi-physics FEA software for acoustics systems is an advantage COMSOL is preferred
Experience working with interdisciplinary teams including project management, quality, purchasing and logistics
Experience working with 3rd party manufacturing companies in global location such as Mexico, China and Europe
Experience in loudspeaker production.
Experience designing and testing according to global standards such as IEC 62638, EN54, UL1480. UL1480A
Experience working with UL and CE certifying bodies to obtain certifications
