Job Summary
Western Aircraft is looking for diligent and detail-oriented Aircraft Structures Technicians to join our dynamic team!
Aircraft Structures Technicians are responsible for inspecting and conducting structural repairs and modifications per blueprint specifications while utilizing hand tools and test equipment as needed to complete assigned tasks to return aircraft to service per FAA and manufacturers specifications.
Duties & Responsibilities
Performs a variety of aircraft structural repairs and modificationsUse specialized equipment and tools to measure parts for defects or deviation from specificationsEnsures proper care of customer property through all phases of maintenance workCompletes duties within allotted hours quoted for assigned tasksEnsures proper and complete documentation of maintenance, repair, and modification work performedUnderstands and follows safety procedures and utilizes support equipment in a safe mannerFollows strict dimension tolerances in compliance with FAA, FAR, based on supplied approved data.
Qualifications & Job Requirements
Minimum three (3) years’ experience in aviation regarding Small, Mid to Large cabin aircraft.Minimum three (3) years’ performing structural repairs and modifications.Experience working with composite materials a plusBasic knowledge of Sheet Metal assembly techniques requiredAbility to read blueprints and schematics requiredAble to work independently and as part of a teamGood problem-solving skills and ability to follow directionsOrganized and detail orientedAirframe Certification preferred for entry and mid level position / Required for senior level position
Other Prerequisites
Pass pre-employment drug screen and background checkAbility to obtain Airport Issued security badge
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Work is performed in an aircraft hangar environment with moderate noise level. The employee is frequently subject to inside environmental conditions, which provide protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Must have the ability for climbing and bending at the waist, crawling, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, and working at heights; Reaching overhead above the shoulders and horizontally. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
