Analytics Engineer

What you'll do at Nansen
You'll build the data infrastructure that makes every team at Nansen faster and sharper. That means constructing the pipelines, models, and systems that turn 500M+ labeled blockchain addresses into decisions — not dashboards that nobody opens.
- Design and maintain core data models in dbt and BigQuery that the entire company depends on — product, finance, trading, staking
- Build data pipelines, warehouses, and reporting systems that actually scale, using GCP, Clickhouse, Metabase, Fivetran, and whatever else gets the job done
- Build AI-powered internal tools that make the team more productive and self-serve analytics actually self-serve
- Own data quality, governance, and observability end-to-end. If the numbers are wrong, everything downstream breaks — and you'll be the one who makes sure they're right
- Work directly with analysts and finance on data models for analytics, trading, and staking products
What we're looking for
- You've led data warehousing and modeling projects in a growth environment — you know what breaks when data scales and you've built the systems that didn't
- Exceptional SQL and data modeling skills. This is the core of the job
- Strong Python proficiency — you're comfortable writing production-quality code, not just scripts
- Hands-on dbt experience. Not "familiar with" — you've built and maintained real dbt projects
- You don't just use AI as a tool. You think with it. Claude Code and Cursor are coworkers, not novelties — AI-first isn't a checkbox, it's how you work
- Bonus: you know onchain data and blockchain analytics. If not, you're genuinely curious about crypto, not just tolerant of it
- Extra edge: Fivetran or comparable ETL tools, data observability tooling experience, ability to transfer raw blockchain data into clean, queryable datasets that drive real outcomes
