Applications Specialist - Peptides and Organic (China)

Exciting opportunity for an experienced Applications Specialist – Peptides & Organic Chemistry to support our growing customer base across China.

This role will focus on pre‑sales and post‑sales application support for our SMST and SU product lines, with a strong emphasis on organic chemistry and peptide workflows. The successful candidate will provide hands‑on technical expertise to customers across pharma, biopharma, CDMO, academic, and government sectors—supporting workflows from synthesis through purification and evaporation. Acting as a trusted technical partner, you will work closely with customers, distributors, and internal stakeholders across China and wider APAC organisation.

 Key Responsibilities:

Customer & Technical Support

• Provide expert application support through on‑site visits, remote sessions, phone, and email

• Deliver hands‑on demonstrations, instrument operation training, and workflow optimisation

• Troubleshoot application, method, and system challenges to ensure successful customer outcomes

Pre‑Sales & Business Support

• Partner closely with Sales to identify, develop, and maximise business opportunities

• Support customer discussions by aligning product capabilities to real‑world workflows

• Build and maintain strong, long‑term customer relationships

Product & Market Expertise

• Support the small molecule, peptide, and scale‑up systems portfolio

• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of customer needs, market trends, and competitive landscape

• Advise internally and externally on best practices in synthesis, purification, and evaporation workflows

Marketing & Scientific Contribution

• Contribute to application notes, brochures, posters, and scientific presentations (English)

• Present technical content at conferences, trade shows, and customer events as required

Skills and experience:

• PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related scientific discipline

• Formal education in peptide chemistry is essential

• Hands on laboratory experience in Organic synthesis and solid‑phase peptide synthesis (SPPS) including

• Purification of organic and/or peptide compounds

• Method optimisation and troubleshooting using analytical data

• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills

• Strong attention to detail with a collaborative, self‑driven mindset

• Proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Desirable

• Experience with liquid chromatography and media technologies

• Familiarity with automation systems

• Prior experience working with Biotage products or competitor instruments (synthesis, flash purification, peptides)

• Experience in customer‑facing scientific or applications roles

Travel will vary as needed. Expected travel within China domestic as well as outside of China as required.
