Atwell, LLC is a national consulting, engineering, and construction services firm supporting critical power, utility, and renewable energy infrastructure projects across the U.S. We are currently seeking an Associate Project Manager to support environmental and permitting efforts for large-scale power and renewable energy programs in the Midwest.
This role is ideal for a candidate who enjoys a mix of field oversight, environmental permitting, and project coordination, with a strong focus on wetlands and project support.
Support project management activities for power delivery and renewable energy projects
Oversee and participate in fieldwork, including wetland-related activities, environmental monitoring, and construction support
Coordinate environmental permitting efforts, including state and federal wetland permits
Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and permit conditions during construction
Coordinate with internal technical teams, field staff, and project leadership
Assist with client communication, reporting, and issue tracking
Utilize GIS tools to support mapping, environmental analysis, and project documentation
Support project schedules, budgets, and deliverables
Travel regularly to project sites near South Bend and surrounding areas
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Natural Resources, Biology, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
5+ years of experience in environmental consulting, utilities, power, or renewable energy projects
Experience with wetlands (delineation, monitoring, permitting, and/or construction support)
Familiarity with environmental permitting at the state and/or federal level
Working knowledge of GIS (ArcGIS or similar)
Ability and willingness to perform fieldwork and travel as required
Strong communication, organization, and coordination skills
Experience supporting utility-scale power or renewable energy programs
Prior experience working on linear infrastructure or transmission projects
Experience coordinating with multiple stakeholders and field crews
