Backend Developer — Node.js (NXJ-100)

We’re looking for a Backend Developer (Node.js) to help build and scale the core services behind a music-driven language learning platform. You’ll work on APIs and systems that power exercise generation, content management, and user progression for thousands of learners worldwide. This role offers real ownership, meaningful technical challenges, and direct impact on the product.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable RESTful APIs for mobile and web applications

• Build and maintain modular content systems with flexible schemas and validation rules

• Work with complex MongoDB data models, aggregations, and indexes

• Develop content processing pipelines (lyrics analysis, translations, synchronization)

• Implement content management workflows, including approval and moderation flows

• Optimize database performance and backend services at scale

• Integrate third-party services (music APIs, payment providers, AI translation models)

• Collaborate closely with frontend and mobile teams to deliver seamless user experiences

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in backend development using Node.js

• Deep experience with MongoDB (schema design, aggregations, indexing)

• Proven experience building and documenting RESTful APIs

• Solid understanding of authentication and authorization patterns

• Experience with queues and background job processing

• Strong data modeling skills for complex relationships

• Comfortable working with Git and collaborative development workflows

Will be a plus

• Experience with AI/ML integrations (translation, speech, or language models)

• Familiarity with subscription-based products and payment systems

• Experience building backends for mobile applications

• Exposure to multi-language or internationalized products
