Role Purpose
We are looking for a mid-level Banking & Finance Lawyer to join a specialist team supporting global banking clients on high-volume, high-value lending matters.
This role is suited to a lawyer who is confident drafting, reviewing, negotiating and amending a broad range of commercial lending and banking documents, and who can apply sound legal judgement across complex documentation and transaction scenarios. You will work closely with international stakeholders to support the efficient progression of matters, deliver high-quality legal outputs, and ensure consistency across structured document frameworks.
Role Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Drafting, reviewing, negotiating and amending a broad range of lending and commercial banking documentation, including facility letters, bilateral and syndicated loan agreements, security documents, corporate approvals, board resolutions and other ancillary documentation.
- Managing document workflows from first draft through to execution, ensuring matters progress efficiently and version control is maintained throughout.
- Handling legal queries with a good degree of independence, applying sound judgement to legal interpretation, risk and escalation.
- Identifying issues, inconsistencies and areas of legal or commercial risk across document sets and resolving or escalating these appropriately.
- Applying consistent legal standards across multiple document types, templates and transaction scenarios.
- Working confidently within established templates, taxonomies, playbooks and structured legal frameworks.
- Supporting the maintenance and refinement of templates, drafting notes and legal guidance materials as document suites evolve.
- Maintaining a high standard of drafting quality, accuracy and consistency across all workstreams.
- Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to support smooth transaction execution and effective communication.
Requirements
- 2–5 years’ post-admission experience in Banking & Finance, commercial lending or a closely related transactional practice area.
- Experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating lending and ancillary banking documentation.
- Experience working on bilateral and/or syndicated lending matters, including drafting, reviewing and negotiating LMA-style or similar finance documentation.
- Strong legal analysis and interpretation skills, with the ability to assess risk and make practical recommendations.
- A high level of accuracy, consistency and attention to detail.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced, documentation-heavy environment.
