The Benefits Specialist supports the day-to-day administration, compliance, and ongoing improvement of global benefits and Leave of Absence (LOA) programs across the United States, United Kingdom, Italy, and Canada. This role is hands-on and operational, focused on accurate execution, regulatory compliance, and clear communication with employees across health and leave programs.
This position partners closely with Payroll, HRIS, Finance, Legal, and external vendors to ensure benefits and leave programs are administered accurately, consistently, and compliantly at scale.
Major Responsibilities:
Support administration of global benefits and Leave of Absence programs across the US, UK, Italy, and Canada, including enrollments, life events, leaves, and terminationsServe as a primary point of contact for employee benefits and LOA questions, escalating complex issues as neededSupport annual Open Enrollment planning and execution, including plan setup, eligibility validation, employee communications, and post-enrollment auditsAssist with year-end benefits processing such as plan year transitions, payroll deductions, and carrier file managementPartner with Payroll, HRIS, brokers, carriers, and leave vendors to ensure accurate pay, deductions, benefits continuation, and data integritySupport benefits- and LOA-related file feeds, troubleshoot discrepancies, and assist with system testing and enhancementsSupport compliance with regional benefits and leave regulations and assist with audits, reporting, and statutory filingsHelp maintain audit-ready processes and identify opportunities for operational improvementsSupport reporting on benefits and LOA utilization, costs, and trends to inform renewals, budgeting, and vendor managementDevelop and maintain clear benefits and leave documentation and employee-facing guidance
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience1–2+ years of experience supporting benefits and/or Leave of Absence administrationExperience assisting with benefits enrollments, life events, leave tracking, or employee benefits supportExposure to benefits compliance requirements, such as ACA, FMLA, COBRA, or regional statutory leave programs, preferredExperience working with Payroll, HRIS, or external benefits vendorsStrong attention to detail and ability to manage sensitive, regulated information accuratelyClear, professional communicator able to explain benefits and leave information in a practical, employee-friendly way
