Bioinformaticien(ne) Senior / Senior Bioinformatician
ABL Diagnostics is looking for a senior bioinformatician to join the Bioinformatics team and help develop our web-based software for analysing DNA sequencing data (Sanger and NGS) in the context of infectious diseases (virology and microbiology).
The bioinformatics team regularly supports and interacts with other departments within the company, such as R&D, field application scientists and regulatory affairs, as well as frequently interacting with clients to provide level 2 support.
We are looking for a bioinformatician with significant experience of analysing DNA sequencing data, a basic understanding of NGS sequencing platforms and protocols, and the ability to interact with people from different knowledge backgrounds.
We are looking for someone with at least 3–5 years' experience in the field of microbiology beyond their degree level.
This position is based in our Marseille office. Proficiency in both French and English is required, and candidates must already be resident in France as the position will be filled rapidly.
Qualifications
Desired skills and experience
- Master’s degree, preferably in Bioinformatics for medical applications
- Familiarity with DNA sequencing techniques and protocols, particularly NGS technologies.
- Experience with DNA sequencing data analysis: quality control, sequence alignment, variant calling, phylogeny reconstruction…
- Proficiency with Python and basic knowledge of Perl, R and Bash.
- Experience working in Linux OS.
- Proficiency with French and English.
- A good background knowledge in a couple of the following areas will be highly valued: genetics, genomics, microbiology, statistics.
- We are looking for a senior profile with at least 3-5 years experience
