For highly regulated businesses in healthcare, it’s always been a challenge to harness that customer data and get it to the marketing and analytics tools that require it while following patient privacy laws….until now.
Something as simple as running ads to get more users is simple for an e-commerce of software company to do. But common web analytics and advertising tools collect sensitive user identifiers and healthcare information automatically. Those same tools are not HIPAA compliant.
We provide a layer of data governance to make current web analytics tools HIPAA-compliant. For analytics, our customers can continue getting the insights they need to improve the patient experience. For marketing, Freshpaint safeguards health information while helping our customers promote access to care through popular advertising platforms like Facebook, Google, and others.
In short, we help healthcare marketers promote access to care and safeguard patient privacy at the same time. This is an important, complex problem in a massive market (healthcare is 20% of the US GDP).

Privacy Platform. We help healthcare providers automate their website’s + app’s HIPAA compliance, and safeguard patient data. This is our core product today
Future additional product lines! Our core product provides a platform that we're building marketing applications on top of.
We’re fully remote. If you strongly value in-person work, Freshpaint is likely not the best fit for you. Even though we don’t care where you’re located, we only hire within the US. Many of our team is concentrated in various metro areas like SF or NYC. To balance out our remote-ness, we gather the team 2x times per year for offsites. We’re backed by leading investors including Y-Combinator, Intel Capital, and angel investors like the Head of Data from Slack, Head of Data at LinkedIn, and more.

Freshpaint was founded by web analytics veterans who realized how hard it was for highly regulated companies to collect and use customer data in a compliant way. We started as part of Y Combinator’s S19 cohort and have been focused on enabling healthcare companies collect, safeguard, and activate patient data since.
In 2022 the government issued updated guidance around HIPAA, basically making our software a requirement to use for healthcare companies. As a result, we're one of the fastest growing software companies on earth right now.

Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented operator who takes ownership of the candidate and employee experience from start to finish. The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in fast-moving environments, communicates clearly under pressure, and instinctively improves systems rather than simply executing tasks. They care deeply about how candidates and new hires experience a company and take pride in creating processes that feel thoughtful, seamless, and well run.
You operate with a strong bias for action, maintain high attention to detail even when juggling multiple priorities, and bring a systems mindset to operational work. You’re comfortable working across recruiting, hiring managers, and people operations teams, ensuring every interaction with Freshpaint reflects our standards for clarity, organization, and ownership.
At your core, you think like an owner. You run toward problems, take initiative to fix what isn’t working, and continuously raise the bar for how candidates and employees experience the company.
What you’ll be doing
Freshpaint is hiring a Candidate & Employee Experience Specialist to build and scale a seamless experience from a candidate’s first interaction with Freshpaint through their first days as an employee.
This role sits at the center of our hiring and onboarding engine and you’ll report to our Lead Talent Partner.. You will own the experience from the moment a candidate visits our careers page through the interview process and into their onboarding as a new hire. You are not just coordinating interviews. You are designing and operating the systems that ensure every candidate and employee interaction reflects who we are.
Over the next two years, your mission is to build and scale a world-class candidate and employee experience that enables Freshpaint to hire exceptional talent quickly while ensuring every new hire starts with clarity, organization, and confidence.
This is a high ownership, high slope role inside a fast-growing startup.
Primary responsibilities
You are extremely proficient in Ashby - meaning you know Ashby better than the people who work at Ashby.
Own the end to end candidate experience from application through offer and acceptance
Coordinate & schedule interviews and ensure clear, timely communication with candidates throughout the process
Identify friction in the hiring process and proactively improve it
Maintain clean, accurate ATS data and drive scorecard completion in Ashby
Partner with recruiters and hiring managers to keep hiring processes organized and moving quickly
Design and operate a structured onboarding experience that helps new hires ramp quickly
Continuously improve the candidate and onboarding experience based on feedback and operational insights
Ensure every interaction with Freshpaint feels thoughtful, organized, and high-ownership
Nice to Haves
Experience designing or improving employee onboarding programs
Experience working closely with People Ops or HR teams on new hire onboarding
Prior experience supporting hiring across both technical and GTM roles
Experience with Juicebox & Justworks
Experience at an early stage or high growth SaaS startup
Strong candidate communication or employer brand instincts
