Constance Ephelia, a luxurious resort in the Seychelles, is seeking a talented and passionate Chef De Partie-Bakery to join our culinary team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating exquisite bakery and pastry items that delight our discerning guests and contribute to our world-class dining experience.

  • Prepare a wide range of high-quality bakery and pastry items, including bread, cakes, pastries, and desserts
  •  Ensure consistency in product quality and presentation across all bakery offerings
  •  Maintain strict adherence to food safety and hygiene standards
  •  Manage and organise the bakery section, including inventory control and stock rotation
  • Train and supervise junior staff in bakery techniques and procedures
  •  Collaborate with the Executive Pastry Chef and other culinary team members to develop new recipes and menu items
  •  Assist in menu planning and costing for bakery items
  •  Participate in special events and themed culinary experiences
  •  Maintain a clean and organised work environment
  •  Adapt to the unique challenges and opportunities of working in a tropical island resort

Qualifications

  • Culinary degree or diploma in Pastry Arts
  •  Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a Chef de Partie-Bakery or in a similar role, preferably in luxury hospitality or fine dining establishments
  •  Proven expertise in a wide range of baking techniques and pastry preparation
  •  In-depth knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards, with relevant certification
  •  Proficiency in using and maintaining various bakery equipment
  •  Strong organisational skills and excellent time management abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  •  Team leadership skills with the ability to train and mentor junior staff
  •  Creativity and passion for developing innovative bakery and pastry items
  •  Understanding of international cuisine, particularly in the context of luxury resorts
  •  Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
  •  Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays
  •  Willingness to work and thrive in a tropical island environment
