Zopa is looking for an experienced Compliance Manager to join our 2nd Line of Defence Compliance team on a 12 month fixed-term contract.
Reporting to the Head of 2nd Line Compliance, this role is an exciting opportunity to help Zopa ensure it stays closely aligned to FCA expectations and up to date with new or changing regulations impacting the bank. You’ll use your expert knowledge of the UK regulatory framework to support the business, conducting thorough horizon scanning, clearly summarizing requirements and effectively communicating them to the business. In addition, you’ll help us ensure our Policies stay up to date and reflect any upcoming changes, either in the business or the regulatory environment. We’re open to applications from experienced individuals looking to work flexibly or on a part-time basis.

Manage the second line horizon scanning process, ensuring that new regulatory requirements are identified, interpreted and communicated effectively to the business
Support the production of briefings to senior staff and committees on compliance-related matters
Support the development, maintenance and implementation of compliance policies
Provide technical regulatory expertise to support the whole range of work of the second line.
Support the Senior Director, Risk and Compliance to deliver Compliance related project(s) as required
You’ll have deep expertise and excellent knowledge of the UK regulatory landscape, particularly FCA and broader consumer-focused regulation, and a strong commitment to good customer outcomes
Have previous compliance experience within financial services
You’re able to get to grips with and interpret a wide range of regulations
You have excellent written and verbal communication skills
You’re eloquent, able to explain complex sets of rules / translate regulations into clear language to all levels of staff
You’re pragmatic, able to understand not just what the regulations say but what implementation looks like in practice
