Overview of the Role
The Compliance Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring that the organization adheres to legal standards and internal policies. This involves establishing and monitoring compliance protocols, educating employees on compliance matters, and conducting regular audits to mitigate risks.
Main duties include:
- Oversee the effective implementation of the company’s compliance program across all business units.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with key government agencies and regulators (e.g., PEZA, BIR, BOI, SEC, DOLE).
- Manage the timely and accurate submission of all statutory and regulatory reports.
- Prepare, maintain, and safeguard complete compliance documentation and records.
- Monitor regulatory changes and internal standards, proactively assessing impact and required actions.
- Identify potential compliance risks early and implement preventive and corrective measures.
- Provide regular updates and risk insights to management on compliance status and issues.
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls in line with established policies and procedures.
- Coordinate and support internal and external audits, ensuring 100% audit readiness at all times.
- Conduct or coordinate risk assessments, facility inspections, and proactive process audits.
- Manage due diligence requests from stakeholders and external parties (e.g., licensees, partners).
- Drive continuous improvement of compliance processes, including training and awareness initiatives for employees and leaders.
Requirements
- Graduate of a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Experience coordinating audits and liaising with regulatory bodies.
- Working knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements (e.g., PEZA, BOI, SEC, DOLE).
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with industry best practices and professional standards.
- High attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy.
- Demonstrates integrity, sound judgment, and professional ethics.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to apply compliance insights to business needs.
