Overview of the Role 

The Digital Marketing Assistant will support our marketing operations by assisting with content creation, managing social media, building marketing funnels, monitoring engagement, and assisting with event and website management, email and customer nurture campaigns. This role suits a detail-oriented, proactive individual who enjoys working across multiple aspects of digital marketing and is confident using templates, AI tools, brand guidelines and following schedules and planning tools to execute tasks efficiently in line with our Marketing Plan. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

Social Media & Content Marketing 

  • Create monthly social media content calendars. 
  • Draft and design social media posts (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, GBP, etc.) using Canva. 
  • Write and schedule social media captions and content (testimonials, blog & video promotion, behind-the-scenes, events, promotions, staff updates, cross-brand promotion, industry updates). 
  • Schedule posts in alignment with the marketing plan. 
  • Boost posts when necessary. 
  • Monitor and respond to social media comments and messages. 
  • Report on social media performance and analytics. 

Lead Generation & Funnels 

  • Create basic landing pages and marketing funnels (lead magnets, webinar funnels, event funnels). 
  • Draft copy for landing pages using prompts and templates. 
  • Set up opt-in forms and integrate email marketing automation tools. 
  • Report on funnel performance metrics. 

Email Marketing & Nurture Campaigns 

  • Build and schedule email nurture sequences (welcome sequences, promotional sequences, follow-up campaigns). 
  • Draft email copy using AI or brand copy templates. 
  • Segment email lists and maintain a clean database hygiene. 
  • Produce monthly and ad hoc newsletters and engagement-style emails. 
  • Monitor and report on email campaign performance. 

Community & Client Nurture Support 

  • Assist with feedback surveys and follow-up client check-ins. 
  • Support the collection and organisation of testimonials and case studies. 

General Digital Marketing & Admin 

  • Assist with researching competitors, audiences, and market trends. 
  • Research, build and populate potential new client or partnership contact databases like industry groups, retirement villages, accountants, lawyers, etc.
  • Help document procedures and maintain internal SOPs. 
  • Support project management tasks using Microsoft Planner and shared team workflows. 
  • Keep social media calendar, planner, marketing bible and plan updated to date  
  • Attend and come prepared to all internal meetings where required  

Event Management Support 

  • Assist in planning and organising seminars, webinars, client events, staff events and community-based activities. 
  • Manage event setup and administration using Humanitix or similar booking platforms. 
  • Oversee event registrations, confirmations, reminders and follow-ups. 
  • Coordinate event marketing campaigns (email, social media, landing pages & promotional materials). 
  • Create and prepare event-related marketing collateral (slides, print pieces, signage, handouts). 
  • Support on-the-day logistics coordination (online or in-person where required). 
  • Compile post-event reporting and insights to support continuous improvement. 

Website Management Support 

  • Update website content for simple changes (text, images, resources, landing pages, new team members, events, etc.). 
  • Liaise with the external web developer for more complex or technical website updates. 
  • Monitor website analytics and report on traffic and engagement statistics. 
  • Liaise with external SEO/content agency to ensure blog updates, contact forms, integrations and site features remain up to date and functioning correctly. 
  • Ensure website reflects brand consistency and correct information at all times. 

Requirements

  • 1+ year experience in digital marketing support, virtual assistant work, or social media coordination. 
  • Competent in using Canva for basic graphic design. 
  • Familiar with social media scheduling tools such as Meta Business Suite and social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, Vimeo, Google Business Profile and TikTok. 
  • Understanding of email marketing platforms (ActiveCampaign, Mailchimp, or similar). 
  • Strong written English, grammar, and communication skills. 
  • Excellent organisational and time-management abilities. 
  • Proactive, comfortable working independently, and able to learn quickly. 
  • Familiar with the Microsoft suite of programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Planner in particular) 

Preferred (But Not Essential): 

  • Experience with marketing funnel builders (ClickFunnels, Leadpages, Kajabi, Mailchimp Landing Pages, or similar). 
  • Familiarity with CRM or pipeline management tools. 
  • Understanding of Meta Ads, Google Ads and SEO 
  • Experience with event management and Humanitix is advantageous. 
  • Basic WordPress or CMS familiarity is helpful.
