Senior Accountant

Overview of the Role

In this role, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the financial integrity and reporting to one of our clients. This full-time position will see you responsible for a wide range of accounting activities that support the overall financial operations of the business.

Main duties include:

• Preparation and Input of Income Tax returns I/P/C/T and Financials  
• Preparation and Input of BAS 
• Flow Charts 
• Recording client details in our databases, updating client details 
• Company & Trust setup (ABN, GST TFN PAYG) 
• Liaising with the Accounting Team to follow up and assist in resolving client queries
• Managing workflow for the team; updating tasks as required
• Updating Job flow manager
• Assisting with tax agent administration of client lists
• Preparation of invoices
• ATO portal maintenance and reports as required
• Liaising with the ATO for all matters
• Participate in special projects and ad-hoc tasks as required

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
• Professional accounting certification (CPA or its equivalent) preferred
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar senior accountant role, preferably in the Australian accounting, finance or a related industry
• Exposure to FYI docs and/or Active workpapers will be highly regarded
• Proficient in the use of accounting software and financial analysis tools such as Xero & XPM, and MYOB
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams
