The role
As a Contract Manager – Field Services, you’ll support the delivery of essential electricity network maintenance across Auckland. Working alongside Senior Contract Managers, you’ll own defined elements of our field services contract portfolio and act as one of the key day‑to‑day links between Vector and our field service providers, helping ensure work is delivered to plan, budget and regulatory requirements.
In conjunction with the assigned Senior Contract Manager you’ll manage contractor performance, support forecasting and budgeting, and operate within a compliance‑heavy environment while still contributing ideas to improve how work is delivered. As your capability grows, there’s opportunity to step up and provide cover for Senior Contract Managers.

Who are we looking for?
- Experience and/or qualification as a line mechanic, cable jointer or similar is essential
- Experience in electricity distribution, utilities, field services, or trades‑adjacent roles (including progression off the tools) is strongly advantageous
- Practical, delivery‑focused experience in contract management, project delivery, or a closely related operational role
- Confidence managing contractor‑led delivery models and building strong, collaborative working relationships
- Experience working in regulated or compliance‑driven environments, with the ability to balance process discipline and improvement
- A customer‑focused, “we‑not‑me” mindset, with curiosity, accountability and willingness to learn new systems and tools
