Through depth of expertise, clarity of insight and strength of purpose we help our clients solve complex problems, steer change, strengthen, transition and grow. We are looking for talented people who share our purpose of inspiring confidence and empowering change for our clients, our people and our communities.
The consulting environment at KPMG is dynamic and fast-paced, offering diverse opportunities to work on challenging projects with leading organisations across various industries. You will work with experienced professionals who are committed to delivering high-quality services and fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
The Opportunity:
This is a newly created, Associate Director role where strategy meets impact. As an Account Strategy Lead, you’ll sit at the centre of one of KPMG’s flagship Financial Services accounts - shaping the strategic roadmap while delivering complex, high‑value consulting engagements.
You’ll be both client‑facing and future‑focused, trusted to guide senior banking executives through transformation, disruption, and growth. From defining multi‑year account strategies to leading major consulting pursuits, this role offers rare breadth, influence, and visibility across KPMG and our client’s executive leadership.
If you’re energised by solving complex problems, building deep relationships, and driving tangible outcomes at scale - this is your opportunity to make a lasting impact.
Day to Day You Will:
Client facing engagement delivery:
• Design and deliver complex consulting solutions that help our clients achieve measurable strategic outcomes.
• Manage client expectations with confidence-negotiating scope, timelines, and outcomes.
• Drive excellent stakeholder engagement and support clients to execute large-scale change.
• Develop and oversee project plans, including terms of reference and risk identification.
• Direct engagements to meet quality, budget, and timeline requirements.
• Identify new opportunities to grow and differentiate our Consulting offering.
• Apply your understanding of the FS environment and industry trends in all engagements.
• Coach, inspire, and develop consulting staff through hands-on leadership.
• Contribute to the design and marketing of new service offerings and solutions.
• Build strong, trusted client relationships.
• Seek and leverage feedback to ensure consistently exceptional client experiences
Account level strategy design and execution:
• Lead the Account Strategy: Develop and execute a multi-year plan for one of KPMG’s largest banking clients — setting clear growth priorities, driving commercial outcomes, and shaping the client’s strategic agenda across retail, business, and institutional banking.
• Champion Strategic Consulting & Major Pursuits: Use your FS sector expertise to qualify, shape, and lead complex pursuits involving transformation, digital, regulatory, and risk themes. Build compelling value propositions that demonstrate how KPMG delivers measurable impact to banking institutions.
• Drive Outstanding Relationship & Account Management: Act as a trusted strategic advisor to key executives across the bank - deepening relationships, understanding emerging priorities, and helping them navigate disruption in areas such as customer experience, technology, risk, compliance, and operational resilience.
About You:
A strong understanding of FS industry trends, market dynamics, regulatory pressures, and industry transformation drivers.
Demonstrated capability in consulting services delivery, business development, and account level leadership - especially across multi-solution, cross-functional environments.
The ability to influence senior stakeholders and build trusted executive relationships.
A commercial mindset with the ability to translate insight into actionable growth opportunities.
A collaborative leadership style that energises teams and champions excellence and innovation.
