About the opportunity:
The Coordinator – Housing Services a key leadership role within Launch Housing’s Housing Services operations team, overseeing the delivery of high-quality, renter-focused services across a diverse property portfolio—including long-term, transitional, and supported housing.
This role leads and mentors a team of Tenancy Managers and/or Customer Service Officers, providing both strategic direction and hands-on support to ensure tenancy management practices align with industry best practice, organisational values, and all relevant legislative, regulatory, and contractual requirements.
The Coordinator contributes to the effective delivery of core tenancy functions such as rent, leasing and property management, complaint resolution, risk mitigation and any other reasonable directive provided by the Housing Solutions senior management team. The role also plays a pivotal part in driving performance, supporting staff wellbeing, fostering a positive culture and ensuring positive tenancy outcomes.
This is a permanent full-time role (76 hours per fortnight) based at Collingwood.
What you'll be doing:
Lead and coordinate Tenancy Management Teams to deliver cohesive, high‑quality services and strong tenancy outcomes.Embed consistent best practice aligned with legislation, funding requirements, and Launch Housing values.Build a high‑performing, accountable team culture through coaching, feedback, and professional development.Oversee day‑to‑day operations to ensure services meet time, budget, compliance, and reporting requirements.Maintain accurate tenancy data and use insights to monitor performance, drive improvements and meet KPIs.Manage staff performance in line with organisational policies and support continuous improvement.Foster effective relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders, encouraging knowledge‑sharing and collaboration.Make sound, timely decisions, escalate issues appropriately, and confidently manage complex tenancy matters.Keep the Housing Services Manager informed of critical risks, trends, and emerging issues.Contribute to planning, projects, policy development, and service innovation; represent the team when required.Ensure accurate data entry, case noting, and reporting to support accountability and compliance.Communicate clearly with renters and support partners to reduce escalations and strengthen tenancy outcomes.Represent Launch Housing at VCAT, resolving matters in line with legislation and organisational values.Oversee rent processes, including transaction accuracy, reconciliations, compliance, and timely rent reviews.Coordinate renter exits, allocations, and sign‑ups to minimise vacancy periods and meet performance targets.Ensure effective property management, including maintenance, inspections, compliance, and managing antisocial behaviour, modifications, and pet requests.
What we're looking for (key selection criteria):
A relevant tertiary level qualification and/or demonstrated experience in a housing setting. Program coordination/management experience within the community sector and demonstrated ability to deliver effective client outcomes.Demonstrated understanding in depth knowledge of Residential Tenancies Act 1997 (Victoria) and VCAT experience.Demonstrated ability to delegate responsibility when required, align team with organisational direction, prioritise work and track team progress to achieve goals. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, knowledge of computer-based tenancy management systems.Strong leadership/people management experience and demonstrated ability to support staff working with clients with complex needs.Ability to build and maintain positive and collaborative partnerships with external stakeholders to enhance and support improvement of systems and services.Have demonstrated high level writing and communication skills.Demonstrated commitment to cultural safety, reconciliation, and the principles of self-determination (desirable).Have valid Victorian Driver’s Licence.Demonstrated commitment to the values of Launch Housing and our mission to end homelessness.
