Data Engineer - Insurance

Get to know the Role

We are seeking a visionary Data Engineer to join our innovative team in Jakarta, Indonesia. As a key member of our data engineering department, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our data infrastructure to support critical business decisions and drive organizational growth.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

• Design and and develop robust, scalable data pipelines to ensure seamless data flow across multiple systems

• Write functionally correct, modular, and maintainable SQL queries and data transformation code (Spark)

• Work with common data storage systems and databases, including data warehouses and distributed data systems

• Apply fundamental data modeling concepts to simple and moderately complex datasets

• Collaborate with diverse teams including Data Scientists, Analysts, and Software Engineers to deliver data solutions

• Participate in code reviews to maintain data pipeline quality and share knowledge

• Respond promptly to data pipeline issues and maintain runbooks, dashboards, and alerts

• Ensure data quality and reliability through appropriate testing and monitoring

Qualifications

What Essential Skills You Will Need

• Min 3+ years of relevant experience in data engineering or related field

• Proficiency in SQL for querying and manipulating large-scale datasets

• Proficiency in programming language commonly used in data engineering (e.g., Python, Scala, or Java)

• Experience with data pipeline frameworks and ETL tools (e.g., Apache Spark, Airflow, or similar)

• Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and platforms (e.g., Hive, Presto, BigQuery, or Snowflake)

• Computer Science fundamentals in algorithms and data structures, with capability to apply them to data problems

• Understanding of data modeling principles and database design

• Experience with version control systems like Git

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
