Here’s the opportunity: Data & Insights Specialist
Futurpreneur is looking for an experienced Data & Insights Specialist to analyze a broad array of client and market data to glean valuable insights, with a particular focus on the broader impact of Futurpreneur in the entrepreneurial ecosystem, and how to improve Futurpreneur’s outreach, operations, and entrepreneur support programs. This role focuses on understanding the competitive landscape, providing insights to support partnerships, and aiding in providing key insights to various stakeholders.
The ideal candidate is proficient in Python, SQL, and Power BI, has strong business acumen, and demonstrates meticulous attention to detail and the ability to follow structured data workflows and scripts accurately. The specialist will conduct external benchmarking and research, using their strong business acumen to extract key insights that will enhance Futurpreneur’s strategic positioning and influence. The candidate will have mathematical and statistical expertise, along with natural curiosity and a creative mind. While mining, interpreting, and cleaning our data, this person will ask key questions, connect the dots, and uncover hidden opportunities for realizing our data’s full potential to help Futurpreneur improve our capacity to support diverse, young entrepreneurs.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer and the VP, Client & Mentoring Experience, the incumbent will work closely with many internal teams and senior leaders to present information using data visualization techniques for operating and reporting purposes, both internally and externally with our partners. The incumbent will also work very closely with the Data & Insights Specialist, Client Experience and provide support as required.
This existing role is a permanent, full-time position located ideally in Toronto, ON. The incumbent will be working in our hybrid work model (minimum 2 days in the office).

o Market Research - Conduct comprehensive market research to identify emerging trends, opportunities, and challenges within the entrepreneurial ecosystem, contributing to strategic planning and program development
o Long-term business performance - Conduct thorough research and gather insights on the long-term performance, including the survivability of businesses supported by Futurpreneur. If needed, collaborate with external partners and do manual checks to validate data. Utilize advanced data scraping techniques to uncover key survivability insights about the Futurpreneur-supported businesses
o Macroeconomic factors and predictive analysis – Examine significant macroeconomic factors affecting young entrepreneurs in Canada. Implement predictive analytics to anticipate trends and challenges facing young entrepreneurs, providing strategic recommendations to enhance Futurpreneur's support programs
o Funder Reporting and Insights - Provide data-driven insights and analysis to support the Partnerships team to identify and target potential corporate partners, develop partnership strategies and proposals, and secure or renew provincial or federal funding for Futurpreneur proposals and any related reporting
o Collaboration and Training - Work closely with various departments to understand their data needs and provide training on data tools and best practices to enhance overall data literacy within the organization
o Provide backup and support to the other Data & Insights specialist on the client experience reporting

We are dedicated to ensuring fair, competitive, and transparent compensation. Salaries are regularly reviewed and benchmarked to uphold internal equity and reflect our values. The starting salary for this role is $82,000 per annum and is set at this amount.
