Apify's mission is to help anyone get more value from the web with automation, AI agents, and web scraping.
Why?
We believe that humans have better things to do than filling forms, compiling huge Excel sheets of copy-pasted data, or watching thousands of videos to determine whether they include a specific brand logo.
Those are jobs for machines.
And just as in the real world, we have tools that make our lives easier, we should have tools to make our lives easier on the web.
Web automation has a profound impact. Our users automate service unsubscriptions to save people money, and they collect billions of rows of data from all over the world for AI training, protection of consumers, or finding lost children. We give AI chatbots the context to interact intelligently, and we’re developing novel ways to work with AI agents and MCP.
To support our mission, we're looking for a Community Manager to join the Apify Developer Relations and Community team. Your responsibility will be to grow awareness and acquisition through events, partnerships, and operational excellence. This is an event- and ops-driven community role (mid–senior), focused on getting the right developers into our ecosystem and helping our community efforts scale globally.
Lead our presence in third-party events: Conferences, meetups, hackathons, and community roadshows that we’re attending, speaking at, sponsoring, or co-hosting
Plan and deliver a calendar of first-party events: Meetups, hackathons, webinars, workshops, and office hours. Own run-of-show, speaker prep, moderation and recording if it’s an online event, and post-event follow-up.
Own event logistics: Timelines, vendor coordination, booth/materials, travel coordination, and attendee capture
Create and maintain promotional assets for community-led growth: Event one-pagers, flyers, slide templates, demo scripts, QR flows
Own merch planning and production: Stickers, swag packs, printed materials, in coordination with Marketing and Design teams
Own global community operations: Shipping and logistics, inventory tracking, vendor management, and process documentation
Build and run community partnerships that expand distribution: Identify and secure collaborations with developer communities, OSS projects, creators, and ecosystem partners
Maintain an organized asset library and templates so programs are repeatable across regions
Work with other Community Managers to promote events and programs on Discord and Reddit
Track and report performance based on acquisition KPIs, e.g. attendance and conversation
Run post-program retrospectives and implement improvements
4-7+ years experience in community (growth-focused): Events, field marketing, or developer marketing, ideally in SaaS, developer tools, or a technical product
Demonstrated ability to run first-party and third-party events end-to-end: Virtual and in-person, including logistics, vendor coordination, and stakeholder management
Strong program management skills: You can run multiple workstreams, maintain timelines, and ship consistently with high attention to detail
Operational strength with global execution: Experience with shipping/logistics, budgets, invoicing, and building repeatable processes
Proven ability to build and execute partnerships that drive awareness and measurable inbound interest: co-marketing, co-hosted events, community collaborations
Comfort representing a product externally: Confident hosting webinars, moderating panels, working with speakers, and interacting with developer audiences
Familiarity with community channels (Discord/Reddit) and how to show up effectively: You can post, coordinate announcements, and identify trends, without needing to own day-to-day moderation
Strong written and verbal English communication
Experience in open source or developer ecosystems
Technical fluency: You can follow product workflows and collaborate closely with engineers
Experience with tools like HubSpot/Salesforce, Notion, Zapier, webinar/event platforms
Don’t worry if you don’t meet all of the above criteria. We value diverse skills and experience and would love to hear from you.
Ownership and impact: You will own part of Apify’s global developer events and programs and work with the rest of the team to create maximum impact
Existing ecosystem: You won’t be starting from scratch. Members of our team have already been on the ground across different regions, running events and building relationships
Close relationship with AI: You will be at the center of the AI revolution, running programs for developers who are sourcing the data that fuels the world's most advanced AI applications
Space, support, and autonomy for personal growth, with a direct impact on our success
